will look awesome when done
Here’s how/why it started:
annnnd your comparing a tdi SUV v10 turbo over a tdi jetta 2.0 turbo… my jimmy dominates all in this thread and yes it has no turBo 215k on it lol
you are getting all serious about it, im just joking. you post that a tdi cant haul 21000lb. didnt specify which model, so i just pointed out that A TDI can pull 155 tons.
fuck your Jimmy. My F150 will tear it to pieces in a pull off
You realistically cannot compare power levels either. One is tuned for powering around a 2500lb car whilst maintaining reliability, the other is tuned for powering around an 8000lb brick + its rated towing capacity without burning down the house from excessive EGTs etc. Tune the duramax for the same max weight as the tdi and see which makes more power. This is why the durmax picks up so much power on a tuner alone, they’re detuned so they stay together while being a workhorse. this is also why a tdi only picks up 20-40hp max from a tune.
eh thats ok ill just buy another 1 cashmoney llolllll, but my jimmy may surprise that “built” ford “tough” nonsense
I had a Blazer and it was the biggest piece of shit truck I owned.
2950 bro… my nozzles alone are rated at 25hp/50tq gain. for a whopping, 115hp, 205 tq.
but anyway you look at it, 236lb/ft from a 122cu/in oil burner is ALOT of torque.
well i have a JIMMY not a blazuuuur… side note: i really love this jimmy, havent done a thing to it besides oilchange and fuel, best money ive ever spent. the shittiest car ive owned was my XR7 coug but it did mean burnouts
Same fucking truck.
Something was always breaking/blowing on mine. Intake gasket blew, motor spun a bearing, got replaced and then the tranny started going, then the heater core popped.
I only drove it 12k miles.
that sucks and nope not the same, ones a GMC and ones a CHEVY ones a JIMMY ones a BLAZER
GMC>CHEVY
and you paid way more then i did i assure you. i love it and every1 whos been in/drove it loves it too cause its in amazing shape, price and milage wise
and yes same truck just jimmys are more optioned/luxury so stop getting upset im joking
I paid $2850 at the auction for it but that was in '04 and it was a '96 with 113k.
WOW.
well pete. it looks good man. should buy my headlights for it!
yep u paid more and got raped for auction price
your not gonna put em in your ride?
But it was newer than yours was when I bought it and thats what they were going for back then. It was back before gas got expensive and SUV’s were still popular.
No I don’t really care. You have your opinion and brand of choice and I have mine. Also the TDI pulling the jet on a flat runway doesn’t really prove anything. To use a similar example a train that requires 3 locomotives rated at 6000 hp each to move it down a mainline that has 3% grades can be moved by a switch with only 4000hp in a yard that has level track. It’s a cool PR stunt by VW but its about the same as when they took a chevy dually and used it to tow a loaded up semi and excavator combo on truck years ago. Yes it can do it for a short period of time, but it definetly won’t hold together if you do it regularly.
well this thread turned in the direction i was expecting it to haha, anyways i like tdi’s and duramaxs and powerstrokes, in fact i love all diesels.
personally i feel as if the euro diesels ( vw/benz) were lightyears/pioneers in diesel technology then say gm/ford diesels… for instance, common rail injection, electronic injection, variable vane turbo technology… etc etc
Ya it’s shift so no surprise that we managed to f up your thread in less than a day. As far as which is better at what it’s a crap shoot. I’ve worked on and drive larger vehicles with benz motors and they are well made, but expensive to buy and maintain compared to domestics. We could have this discussion/arguement over and over again. Personally I like cummins over the other options, because they are the most reliable in the long run in my experience. A good example is my truck 187k miles/ 15 years and nothing but fuel and oil filter changes. Yes I should adjust the valves and check timing but she still runs great.
