Ya it’s shift so no surprise that we managed to f up your thread in less than a day. As far as which is better at what it’s a crap shoot. I’ve worked on and drive larger vehicles with benz motors and they are well made, but expensive to buy and maintain compared to domestics. We could have this discussion/arguement over and over again. Personally I like cummins over the other options, because they are the most reliable in the long run in my experience. A good example is my truck 187k miles/ 15 years and nothing but fuel and oil filter changes. Yes I should adjust the valves and check timing but she still runs great.

oh i hear ya, it all comes down to personal preferance and what your doing with it and what you need from it…

me, i need a car that gets phenominal fuel milage and doesn’t look like a chode ride so i chose a jetta tdi… (my 3rd tdi, 4th vw diesel)

But it was newer than yours was when I bought it and thats what they were going for back then. It was back before gas got expensive and SUV’s were still popular.

lool not by much, 8yrs old in 04 mine was 10yrs old in 2010 when i bought it for half that price and obviously in better condition. my jim rules. o btw 96-99 were totally dif trucks esp interior and exterior jimmy to blazer, jim wins fuck offffffffff hahaha:hug

No I don’t really care. You have your opinion and brand of choice and I have mine. Also the TDI pulling the jet on a flat runway doesn’t really prove anything. To use a similar example a train that requires 3 locomotives rated at 6000 hp each to move it down a mainline that has 3% grades can be moved by a switch with only 4000hp in a yard that has level track. It’s a cool PR stunt by VW but its about the same as when they took a chevy dually and used it to tow a loaded up semi and excavator combo on truck years ago. Yes it can do it for a short period of time, but it definetly won’t hold together if you do it regularly.

My point is that everybody has a brand of choice that the like to nut swing on and will argue back and forth forever about it’s superiority regardless of whether or not they are right or wrong. Sorry but you clearly have a preference for VW based on the fact that every 4 wheeled vehicle you have owned that you’ve bothered to post about is one. You also have a clear preference to be argumentative and need to be right all the time. So whatever you are the master of all automotive knowledge and the rest of us shift members are meer fools blindly tinkering with our non German diesel powered junk. clap Do you feel better now?
