I saw this posted on clubGP today. Some good info.

I have owned a few 3800’s and i gotta give a big clap to gm for that product…

its been such a staple for there company for such a long time, it fills soo many niches soo well… thanks for the info! =)

just got rid of My GP with the 3800…not a single issue the entire time I owned it

now if only GM could do something about the tranny…the thing felt like it had 75000 miles on it with only 32000

you dident beat it up enough!!!

my riv went 74k in 2 years and not 1 mile was a “easy” one… lol (L67 btw)

yea my 3800 series 2 in my f-bod was bulletproof up to 98k when I sold it. Only thing was it ate starters. That thing got me through assclowning from age 16 to 21 and came out of it no worse for wear.

153k miles and still going strong.

3800 Series 1

I love me a Series II/III 3800. Tough as nails. Stock bottom-ends handling 3-400Wheel hp/tq …holding 700+Wheel HP/TQ. (not for too long probably) but, they’re doing it. I might replace my SBC 400 in my wagon with one of these.

Heck, my father-in-law ran a Series I 3800 into the ground at 341k miles ('89 Olds 98).

Now is running a Series II past 186k…
