This is my first marathon but I have completed 2 1/2 marathons with ease. i also was fully trained up to run the Baghdad marathon even completed a 22mile run 3 weeks out then had a mission the entire week that included race day. :picard:
yea I wanted to do the buffalo marathon this year… but I’m having tendon pain in my left foot ( i think my shooes need to be replaced lol) and for some reason my shoulder is all fucked up… so at like mile 3.5 today I had to call it quits…
Aside from the wrong turn towards the ghetto… I took and had to kick it through there before I started picking up their vernacular
Yea i am actually not doing well physically i hope i can get my body to hold up for a few months. I am having bad pain in the outside of my left foot and just came off of a 4 month injury that is still kind of tender. I am not too worried though I can run through it
Same place for me… I actually stress fractured it this winter… I’m hoping it holds up this time… I really think its my shoes… I really pay attention to my footing and how my foot impacts the ground… so I am getting good contact…
I have been running Nike Air vomero 3 for 1.5 years now and gone through like 4-5 pairs hahah I LOVE THEM and they are like 50% off right now on roadrunner. I ordered 3 pairs last night haha
I follow the anabolic diet currently, which is pretty much that. Breakdown is about 60fat/30pro/10(no more than 30g carbs). It’s very difficult to actually hit these ratios. It seems unhealthy but without getting carbs your body will begin to use fat for energy pretty effeciently. I don’t like the carb up days because its very hard to control yourself, given the extreme you do during the week. Also, people do 2 day refeeds which to me makes no sense at all. I’ve been doing a 24 hour carb up and even that is too much imo. If you’re doing a 2 day refeed, your going to spend 2 days getting back to ketosis, then in 3 days your off. Doesn’t seem to make sense to me much.
Are you doing this for a cutting/mantaining/gaining phase?
Yeah I was uncertain why people do 48hr carb ups, I figure that you can maximize your glyocgen stores easily in 24 hrs. I understand the concepts behind the CKD or TKD, I’m just uncertain where all the fat is going to come from, short of cheese, mayonaise, cream, bacon, etc. What makes the carb up days so difficult is that you should eat all your carbs clean, without fat. Every carb I’d want to eat has fat, so
I’m still doing research on the health side of things, and not certain if I’m going to sway from my current diet. Oh well.
The best sources I have found are pepperoni, 80% beef, bacon, sausage (beef), cheese, and plain old butter/olive oil.
On the AD that I follow carb refeeds can have fat, he actually recommends low protein instead IIRC. I usually go for breads and pasta, but sometimes (more latley), its been ice cream, muffins and whatever else I can get my hands on…
My bro runs marathons, only advice I can give is to take a pre-game dump. He’s running the DC marathon this weekend.
I don’t have a problem sticking to a diet, I just need to figure out if I can / want to do it or not. This is a decent article I read about the diet: Tsampa.org: Under the Bar It’s moderately long though.
So on carb up days, it sounds like you don’t follow an exact science, but instead just chow down.
How long have you been on it, and how is your progress? How have you been measuring your bf?
can you come up with a sitdown workout so I can play CSS more and not get fat?
I went through the article quickly, but it’s very close to the version I follow. I began this for gaining weight purposes since all my lifts had been on a plateau for quiet some time. I start december 1 at about 195lbs, today I come in around 215. As a former fat kid I gain weight quickly, and it all goes to my waist. I have increased in BF, but only in that area. I always carry weight around my waist, when I was 185 I still had a 36" waist, it’s just how I am. I didn’t bother to measure because I was/am not all that concerned with it at the moment. My arms/legs are pretty lean, and have increased pretty well.
The part that I cared about is my lifts and in that department I have been making excellent progress. I have hit 30lb PR’s or more in all my lifts, and set a lot of rep PR’s as well.
For refeed’s I started out following it fairly strict, pasta and breads, pretty clean, but over the past few months I’ve just had whatever I want. It’s more of a mental thing for me now. I try to stay within reason, I won’t eat 10,000 calories of crap, but I will eat maybe 3-4 over the course of the day of what I want.
If you want it, I have a pdf of the Metabolic diet book that I use that I can send you.
Would you be doing this for cutting/bulking or maintaining weight but getting stronger?
bi’s and tri’s today. decided to have a heavy day with them too. Although i dont think they responded as well as my chest and back did. My arms are deffinitly my weak point and the hardest part of my body for me to pack size onto.

Ran 10 miles this morning.
conclusion:
Running 26.2 is going to be the suck.
Jesus dude! Congrats, that’s a feat.
good luck when the 26.2 comes around
ugh skull crushers, I can only do 90lbs x8-10 on those, it’s brutal. 105x20 is siq
10 miles isnt too hard at all for me I actually ran it way too conservative and had enough energy to run the last two miles in under 15min which I was happy about. But i think any more then 15-16 is going to start getting difficult.
Finally went back to the gym monday did some back and bi’s. I probly should of went a little light since its been a month, but i couldnt resist. Now its been 2 days and my arms feel so cramped it hurts to stretch them out… yep i remember this feeling, any tips to make the pain go away and get the mobility back in my arms. The pain is in my upper forearms and lower part of my biceps. I tired stretching them a little but it hurts alot
My workout wasnt anything crazy, Did 4 sets of lat pull downs, 3-4 sets of seated rows, and 4 sets of standing straight bar curls, i did around 8-10 reps each time failure on last set of the excersize.
I’m maxing out on skullcrushers at 120x6 now, almost double from when I started. Did 4 grappling rounds yesterday with someone twice my weight and went 3-0-1. armbar, rear naked choke, draw, then rear mounted armbar. Can’t wait for fight season
I’ve started running at 11mph for two minutes straight (about a third of a mile). I’m thinking this will help me increase cardio without losing weight? Im at 154ish and trying to be a solid 160lbs before June.
How’s everyone else doing? How soon is your marathon cougarspeed?
i stopped working out because of whores
:picard:
i will start again in 2weeks :meh:
