since when? thats good though, congrats  I just got in from a 3.8 mile run now
145? damn that’s tiny. I was about to say word to the not being able to gain weight but im at 170 and can’t gain a pound anymore no matter what I eat. I have an extremely fast metabolism and I also have a big tub of whey protein here and it tastes so bad! lol
I’ve been working out pretty consistently since I came to college as a freshman(now a junior). Being consistent and keeping a schedule is definitely important. If you take a few weeks off, you will definitely notice it the next time you lift. As much as it sucks, diet definitely does play a huge part in gaining muscle/losing fat. I try to eat as healthy as possible, getting as much (chicken, salmon, steak) protein as I can. I usually do a day for each body part, because it takes less time and you can really concentrate on just that part. A new favorite of mine is the “300 Workout” which was supposedly used by a lot of actors to train for the movie 300. It is grueling, but after doing it once you can tell it will get you shreaded doing it weekly. As for whoever brought up protein, I use EAS 100% Whey(Chocolate) and Gold Standard 100 % Whey(Chocolate) and they both taste good. I can’t vouch for gyms as I work out at Alumni Arena (UB).
300 Workout:
- 25 pull-ups
- 50 deadlifts (135 pounds)
- 50 push-ups
- 50 box jumps with a 24-inch box
- 50 “floor wipers” (135 pounds)
- 50 “clean and press” at 36 pounds
- 25 more pull-ups
- No rest between sets

First off, you have not defined what you are going for… Size or tone? Strength or endurance?
Second, I always hated hearing what im about to say but until I actually started working out and got really tone a few years back (im a fat slob now) I dint understand how true it was…
Diet is everything!
Ask any meathead, any real meathead :mamoru: (or any remarkably sizable toned person) and they will tell you. I have heard that diet is 75% of any workout routine, and although I dont think its that important, it really will make or break what I think you are truly trying to achieve.
For me, I always had the ability to put on size (fat or muscle) like it wasn’t a thang, so it was about cardio and achieving the highest amounts of protein while in taking the least amounts of fat.
Now, you are a small guy so I dont think you have to worry about the fat intake part (unless you start to get really serious about it) but what really works the best in your case, is pretty much anytime you have the stomach room to shove some meat down (nohomo), you need to do it. There will be times where you are not craving anything or are even hungry but that protein really is the key (as I assume you know).
Again, I wish working out was just as easy as working out as Fry is doing, but if you want to see real results, you really need to adjust your diet (which in your case is easy… just get a lot more protein) If your metabolism is as good as you say it is, the cardiovascular exercise of lifting alone will burn off the fat and I feel you will yield great definition and size (depending on your routine)
Oh and one other thing… I can teach you how to make a protein shake that tastes as good as something you can get from Andersons (seriously). Think blending peanut butter (lots of additional protein plus great taste), maybe bananas, or other fruits with ice and the powder. Musscle Milk truly tastes the best too. If you wanna give me a turn to play chef, I can teach you a thing or two
cross-fit FTMFW
Back in 03-04 I combined an ECA stack with running 5 miles on the track each morning and night and I’d only eat ~1000 calories a day. I ended up dropping about 50 lbs in 6 weeks it was so unhealthy but I got into such incredible shape, kept it off for about a year or 2, then I got into the real world. Put about 50-60 lbs back on just from not going to the gym anymore.
So now I am just taking it slow because I don’t want to change my diet much at all. My goal is to be back to around 200-210 by May 1st…
I work my thumbs by playing a lot of Ninja Gaiden…
Seriously though…that game is fucking HARD!!!
Cross Country skiing > all. It makes you sooooooo tired.
cross fit is a bunch of cultist GPP bullshit
I play hockey 5-6 times a week
Being able to bench a ton of weight doesn’t make you tough. Just sayin…
I’m sure that was directed towards me, so I’ll say this: Your right…But the combination of me being able to bench a ton of weight and my ability to fuck somebody up are what make me tough. Just sayin…
I wasn’t directing it towards anyone, really. I don’t make judgments about anyone I haven’t personally met. I was just sayin…
i work out about 4-5 days a week for usually 1.5-2 hours. protein and glutamine is key, but also eating right too. get a lot of chicken, pastas and rice as well as the ocassional protein burgers from in and out. aslong as you stay committed, you’ll hit goals but that is where everyone lacks. they’ll be serious for like 3 weeks and then just stop. i used to be in really good shape, moved to cali and got lazy. now i’m back in routine and it’s awesome. oh, and 24 hour fitness is the gym i use.
do you boxxxorz?
work out 4 to 5 days a week. in the middle of getting an ACE personal trainer cert. I do all kinds of different shit and its too late and im too tired to write it all out.
edit–> what was that planet fitness thread all about? Hopefully about how ridiculously retarded the place is.
holy fuck.
PS. not helping your tendonitis.
Holy balls! Are you like 4’9" or something?
In all honesty it only hurts when I curl. Benching doesn’t hurt whatsoever.
