it’s actually all in the tuning. There’s people punching good amounts of boost into high compression engines and churning out great numbers everyday, as long as the tune is right. Have the proper timing, and A/F ratio.
I can’t even count how many B18C1/5’s I see with boost. Or LS1/LS6’s. Or even DOHC 4.6 Cobra engines (pre 03) that are running an assload of boost.
But from what I heard about the NA 240’s is. Theyre just not a good platform to build from. The SR20 swap is the way to go on them.
its not so much that they are a bad platform its just there is no aftermarket support for the engine and to make good power in a KA you can swap in the SR and get all the aftermarket for the same cost!
alot of japanese tuners were swapping out SRs for KAs last time i was checkin out teh 240 forums
you have other options like the ca18det or a rb25det
or a blown LS1 :blue:
or a heads/cam LS1… now thatd be something. pull up to a 240, and hear it thump like a chevy lol.
Just like if someone does a heads/cam swap on one of those new CTS-V’s. Look over and realize its a cadillac loping at you.
how much is an LS1 drivetrain? :blue:
