District 9: 8/10
I like this a lot. Mostly because it exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to be either a lame alien shoot-em-up or some gamer fggt shit.
It was neither and it was awesome. Pretty cool character development, interesting filming and NOT a remake, sequel, movie adaptation of a comic book, etc.
There is some basis for it tho… Google “District 6”
It also gets +1 for having a mechanical armor suit. That shit fucking rules.

good movie, great story, and idea. ending got a little dumb and unrealistic for the what rest of the movie is. For what happens to the main guy and what he dose at the end. or I’d rate it a lot better

Decent, saw it last night and had the worst nightmare last night which kept me awake from 4-4:30am.
The scene where he kills his wife is very dramatic lol
“Mordak gets his ass beat and sues” 10/10. Funny even the 2nd time around.

This is my pick for movie of the year 09 so far (I am seeing basterds tonight so it may change). They kept the characters and development simple and because of that I felt it was pretty top notch. I mean c’mon, the robot suit running back at was just an epic scene. Speaking of the robot suit, the action/special effects were also superb. Great action+SE+plot= movie of the year for me.

Jeremy Piven’s character was no Ari Gold but good enough. the will ferrell scenes were hilarious. Andy from the office was a D bag though

Just got back from District 9…
Very well put together, but the story itself wasn’t as great as i thought it’d be, though i was impressed with how much they thought out of the box compared to typical alien’s coming to earth movies. Needed more special effects and explosions IMO.
