Inglorious Basterds - 8/10 good movie, a lot of funny parts, a bit too long though
Burn After Reading
Saw it in the theaters when it came out and give it a 4/10.
Wanted to like it more, so watched it again last night to see if I missed anything.
Conclusion: A little, but not much. Give it a 6/10 now.
District 9 was my movie of the year as well. I would give it 9.75/10. Thought the plot fell apart a little bit at the very end, but certainly very well done throughout.
The character building was done fairly subtly and didn’t ever seem as though it was slapped on. Action was great, special effects were awesome, especially for a $30 Million budget (I think having Peter jackson and likely WETA helped to keep the cost down).
Can’t wait for the sequel!!!
and also cannot wait to see ‘9’ come 9-9-09, looks like another Tim Burton spectaculaaaarrr
Movie watching marathon this weekend.
District 9 = Win.
The Goods = Win.
Harry Pothead CXXXVIII: The Quest For More Cash = Twat.
I’m going to spend this upcoming Sunday at the movie theater until I get kicked out. There is a good ~5 movies I want to see. As long as I get D9 and IB out of the way I’ll be happy.
Death Wish
1974 - Charles Bronson
7.5/10
Must watch if you ever what to be a man.
I just watched that about 2 months ago. Had a few funny parts but really no point to the movie.
The Shorts: 7.5/10 - The kids liked it and it was entertaining enough for me to pay attention. Who wouldn’t want a rainbow wishing rock?
Inglorious Bastards 9/10- what you would expect from tarantino, gory and funny, will see again
Mystic River 9/10- great movie, Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon are amazing
The Watchmen 7/10- great in HD, a little long and hard to follow if you never read the comic, like me. Movie contained a lot of blue penis, not sure what the deal was 10% the time the guy had underwear on and the other 90% just straight dong action lol why not just wear the underwear the whole time, but you get to see the one hot chick naked which is a plus
The Taking of Pelham 123 8/10- Denzel and Travolta are good. Cool movie IMO, I enjoyed the story
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - 8/10
Great movie that really puts you in the shoes of the main character. You feel his frustration when he learns he cannot speak anymore. You feel his anger when people talk about him like he’s not even there. Shot from the perfect point of view.
District 9. Opening night. Haha Im kind of far behind. I like the character development. It was subtle yet seemingly straight to the point. The fighting scenes between the “D9 army” and the main character with the “mech” power suit, Whatever the hell you call it were awesome. The effects were great considering the story and how they fit into it. I hear rumors of two more films coming out. Cant wait.
The Last House on the Left
ridiculous…
2/10
ahahah couldnt have said it better
Funny Games - 8/10
Serisouly F’d up. If you like A Clockwork Orange you’ll like this one.
It’s on HBO on Demand right now.
Went to the Avon Drive in with the Girl, to see The Goods and Funny People.
The Goods came on first. 7/10 Solid mindless comedy with some entertaining bits, No Anchorman by any means but probably best comedy of the year so far.
Funny People. 1/10 We left an hour into the movie just pissed off. I laughed at one Fart joke and the rest of it was just plain shit. This movie should not have been made.
The Goods: 5/10. It was just OK to me.
Adventureland: 2/10. My wife and I both thought it was very boring.
I love you, Man: 8/10. I enjoyed the whole movie and laughed a lot.
The last house on the left… 3/10 … wtf the movie had no point
You should see the original. I’m sure it’s way better than the remake.
Also, I can’t wait to see Inglorious Basterds tomorrow. I’m so pumped.
Hurt Locker - 9/10
Ending was a little meh but cool blow shit up and be a badass movie.
District 9 - 9/10, focking awesome. So much different than the usual sci-fi cliche movie.
just chiming in with another positive review for Inglorious Basterds. great plot and character development, good to see someone have the balls to make a movie about Nazi Germany and not be entirely based on actual events. the “jew hunter” character was amazing.
