The T-56 weighs in at 125lbs. 609lbs - 125lbs = A motor that weighs 484lbs
And for the record. User, “Fred Allen Burge” on zilvia once weighed and posted pics of the KS, SR, VQ (on scales, but the pics are long gone) weights that were dry with no exhaust manifold, but all accessories, and they all weighed 330-331lbs… With no transmission of course.
I hear all the damn time… Look on every major 240sx forum, look on youtube for all the LSx swapped 240’s… You’ll see over and over “The LSx is lighter than the KA too!” I never said there was anything wrong with the power to weight.
Ummmm… I have one… Well I did… Albeit the cast version which is 74lbs heavier… Just never had it in and running because T56’s are too fucking expensive…
I far from hate the V8. I’m just sick of all the arguments that people make. “It’s lighter because it’s aluminium”…
I personally don’t give to shits about the weight.
Find me a 6BT and NV5600 and I’ll try and shove it into an S-Chassis if it made any sense at all… (6BT’s blocks are roughly 1200lbs)
All this thread was for was to put an end to the debate with actually supportive facts. Nothing more.
I do NOT hate V8’s.
150lbs is a lot though. Not really close enough in weight to say they weigh the same. Or even close to.
The accessories and turbo aren’t going to add 150lbs… I wouldn’t really include plumbing either.
Simple fact of the matter is that the LS is heavy… Having twice the pistons, con-rods, heads, exhaust headers, and even a beefier crank, will almost always add up to more weight.
…and what the F does it matter when no one on this forum, or most forums, is a good enough driver to ever ever ever feel the difference the weight makes. Myself included and I drive one. Fuck, such a stupid argument. Weight this, distribution that, balance this, nuetral that. Just get in a car and fucking drive you losers.
No one ever said anything about weight distribution that, balance this, neutral that.
It’s an argument I see a lot. I simply provided some facts.
I didn’t know it was such a bad thing to clear some misinformation. I guess I should apologize for that?
