Very Nice!
Good fireworks show, you were right under them and the finale was awesome. ( just got alot of firework chunks on you )
Didnt do too bad, whole reason I wanted to go was for blackjack but ended up going on a slot because blackjack was full. girlfriend won like $40 over the $100 she took, I went home with $376 off of 1 machine with $20 (playing max bet on progressive).
after the cashout of $376 I stuck the rest of my $100 ($80) into the machine and just played it for fun and just got it back up to $80…
watched some lady get 292 free spins on the star wars game and walk away with $750 some dollars.
Maybe I am looking too much into this…but do you think they can program the slots to pay out more often now to “bait” people in. If people come and win they are likely to return. Then after this place is open for a little while then put the slots back to “normal”?
You hit the nail on the head. The machines will probably be hot for a month… then it’ll be down to normal. SOOO… if you’re going to go, you might as well do it soon and actually try and win some money.
Yes, as someone else said, you hit the nail on the head!
My good friend’s wife’s dad works for a company that repairs lottery machines and slot machines. he said there is a switch in the machines for beginner/novice/advanced.
beginner is what you want, it will pay out quite often and you’ll make money.
novice is hit or miss, could make money, could lose some…
advanced, well… your fucked
I watched some guy play the $500 slot in the high limit room… he pulled it 4 times and won $40,000 on his last pull:eek2:
I still couldnt get the courage to waste $2,000 on a slot within 2mins…
the last thing PGH needed was more entertainment… they brag about the jobs it created… it created mostly low paying menial jobs… the kind of jobs held by the people that get you nachos at a sporting event. the whole process of the casino was a joke and spoke to the true crookedness of the politicians in this city and harrisburg. We need to attract business that actually produce something not take. it will great in the beggining but it will get old and stale and people will go back to going to out of town casinos.
wait till they have their first robbery and shooting and or killing. its gonna happen… lowes theather in the waterfront was a nice place too and then it got overan.
you who bitches about welfare so much is complaining that we are making the sort of low paying menial jobs that would get people off of it?
It will further diversify the Pittsburgh area’s draw for tourism. It’s created lots of jobs, will garner lot’s of tax dollars, will be a nice artistic addition to the city. Pittsburgh’s not going to turn into the next Atlantic City bro. We should all really be happy that big companies are investing ANYTHING into the city. 5-10 years ago when it was nothing but a steady stream of jobs out of the area. This is really a huge sign that things are turning around. We have a nice convention center (that is hosting a huge event that will beautifully showcase the city in the G20 summit), will have 3 brand new sports venues, brand new airport, a brand new casino complex… And in case no one has noticed, the roads are getting CONSIDERABLY BETTER in and around town. Our economy is MUCH better than the vast majority of urban complexes in the US and abroad. The high-tech, diversified economy we smartly built after the fall of the steel industry has finally started to bear it’s fruit.
This area has one of (if not the) brightest futures of anywhere in the US.
Now all we have to do is destroy Ohio so their filth blowing into our beautiful area stops giving us all lung cancer.
wow, an actual worthwhile post from darkstar! Completely agree. The shame is that we didn’t have it sooner. Back at Pitt around 7-8 years ago in one of my classes we did a study on the effect of river boat gambling on Pittsburgh and it’s neighborhoods. The most interesting things that we found out was that there was an offer made to the City to bring a riverboat casino to the shores that would have highly benefited everyone. Part of the offer was to build both new stadiums and be a major contributor to renovating the North Shore. Instead sales tax jumped to 7% and we built our own stadiums and the Casino eventually made it here on it’s own
I have some new tenants that are employed at the casino, and a few of the cleaners I use for apartment clean-up are now night turn Casino cleaners… They may not make a great living, but they are earning and able to support themselves, now without government aid. To talk to them now vs. six months ago you can see the change in their self-pride and self-worth. It’s been life changing for some of them.
i completely disagree about our roads… come through the intersection where ben busted up his grill and u will understand what i mean. its a HEAVY traffic area and it looks like the surface of the moon… that should never be. forbes has move waves that ocean… the roads and MAJOR roads at that are in BAD BAD shape.
a section of the BLVD of the allies has fell over the hill in schenley park… i mean anything the city has control of it basically a shit hole. the parkway has gotten better but thats the state. the November election can make or break this city. u’ll see when they have debates… acklin is goin to expose ravenstahl for the empty suit poseur that he is.
are you ever fuckin happy? fuckin remember down the road not across the street. fucking move then. i agree with darkstar pgh is lookin way better then alot of places. we have had 5-6 people in the past 3-4 months from all over the country try to get jobs at my company because its way better here then other places for construction. WAY BETTER… a place in georgia just had to auction off 120+ concrete pumps because its soooo slow down south.
