The Secret Effort to Kill Health Care Reform

According to internal documents obtained by Rolling Stone, right wing groups have been coordinating “in a plot to unleash irate mobs at town-hall meetings.”

“Far from representing a spontaneous upwelling of populist rage, the protests were tightly orchestrated from the top down by corporate-funded front groups as well as top lobbyists for the health care industry. Call it the return of the Karl Rove playbook: The effort to mobilize the angriest fringe of the Republican base was guided by a conservative dream team that included the same GOP henchmen who Swift-boated John Kerry in 2004, smeared John McCain in 2000, wrote the script for Republican obstructionism on global warming, and harpooned the health care reform effort led by Hillary Clinton in 1993.”

Interesting read. Pretty much gives some of the specifics on how they executed what we all figured was going on.

No offense, but if you’re not going to believe anything from Fox News I sure as hell won’t be believing political pieces in Rolling Stone.

EDIT:
He always seems to unbiased in his “journalism” too. :roll2:

haha, no prob, but I figured it was a welcome balance from the usual Heritage Foundation type crap that gets posted. I found it interesting when they named the names that were involved.

a good read, filled a few holes in my understanding of the situation.

:tinfoilhat:

lol @ irate mobs. I havn’t seen one report of violence, damage, etc. from these “extremists”, yet the left wing crazies were the ones who caused commotion and property damage at the G20, and pretty much any other protest they form.

The Latest Rasmussen Poll - 56% Opposed To ObamaCare.
Only 41% Favor Government Health Care Takeover.

mildly on-topic… LOL @ people praying to Obama for health care reform. (and also LOL at the prophet MLK)

The anti-capitalist protesters that cause all the damage are not even left wing, they are to far left to be grouped with normal lefties.

Hmm, good thing no one proposed a government health care takeover then. This is about as relevant as the poll that 18% of conservatives believe Obama is the antichrist.

Well of course they wouldn’t propose that. Did Hitler propose all of the evil he did right away?

good old Godwin’s law

the first person to use the hitler comparison loses.

Hitler wrote a book before he took power.

He’s a book writing nazi! Burn him!

I just love pissing off Obama zombies, I know how much they Hate the Hitler comparisons.
But hey lets stay on topic, there are waaaay too many similarities of Obama and Hitler to talk about in this thread.

lol jackass :stuck_out_tongue:

both parties find numerous ways to nitpick any proposed health care reform but neither has a better idea. meanwhile a loved one has to figure out how to pay for $3000 worth of chemotherapy medication a month while living off of SSDI. And still we protest any talk of reform? Still we profit on people’s sickness? I’m no treehugger but goddamn this country is full of self serving pricks.

Yes it was called Mein Kampf.

According to most here though health care is not a right and the system works great. I find most people believe this until someone close or even themselves become sick and find out how shitty our current system is.

LOL, Blue Eyed fails once again.

no hitler deffinitly did not propose all the evil he commited right away. Hitler gave speeches about disarming his own country and drafting constitutions against paricipating in any war. He never did any of that but the point im trying to make is that he made himself out to be a very peaceful person.
