Not trying to steer this thread any farther off course but i’d like to straighten out a couple things just for the record.

Although I did not do that wiring, I know that speaker wire was not used on the fuel pumps…I mean really who does that!!!

E85 in the catch can sounds really bizarre, but its my understanding that the fuel pressure somehow went up 30 psi from its original base setting. This may explain that.

The leakdown numbers don’t seem to make sense. 85% percent would be a really dead cylinder and not make 140 psi on a comp test. With 45% on another the engine would run terrible.

This is not a callout post, nor is it meant to insult or call anyone a liar…its simply meant to clear up or help figure out what happened with it. Alex, i’ll give you a call…although you might feel at this point that its water under the bridge i’d like to know more about some of the details out of my own personal curiosity.

Alex, if you want to drive the car up, I’ll personally do a leakdown test for free. I cannot argue the compression numbers, but I do kind of doubt the cylinder leaking ~80 percent. Leakdown tests can be WAY off if the cylinder is not in the correct configuration-I use a very long extension on a dial indicator to ensure the piston is EXACTLY TDC to prevent this.

If cyl was washed down from excessive fuel . Leakdown numbers and comp are gonna be way off . To many knowitalls in here , that have no real idea on what there doing .
