yeah LS1 is an awesome power plant…i figure I will save over 50lbs in weight from the KA easy…it also makes silly power and is NA and reliable…
I bought the motor used, I just started to look around on boards for one…i got mine out east, and am having it shipped to me.
I would think total swap will come in at about 5-6k or so, depending on how silly i get with aftermarket parts…
I will be porting the head, maybe a light cam? and intake manifold with 90mm throttle body…
they make engine and tranny mounts in texas, as well as a special oil pan…and painless wiring makes a harness for it…
I guess I will see how easy it will be

What goes down with the tranny?
Mount it in the rear like vettes have in the diff. that would be insane.
how is the tranny going to fit in the tunnel? heh its gotta be substantially bigger. no?

the tunnel will either have to be coaxed with a sledge…or rebuilt with new sheetmetal…either way its no biggie
