PS, that border crossing is only about an hour from where I grew up (Fort Covington, NY). That entire border is a mess of farmland and wooded areas with tons of 4wheeler trails that crisscross the border.
Thousands of people (many of whom are here legally) are fleeing âyourâ country because they fear their lives would be worse off here is good news to you? Youâre hopeless.
Sounds like Canada is trying to deal with it as best they can, but good luck. Hopefully they donât get overcome by the pure magnitude of people trying to cross illegally.

i understand that the overall situation is terrible but none of us are responsible for the conditions, we just have to deal with the consequences.
i dont believe anyone is directing their frustrations about this and laying the blame on the individuals. i dont blame them at all⌠but the whole situation is fucked and not getting better. If i had to pick a side to be on i would pick the US side with all the illegals leaving instead of being on the Canadian side where they are all coming.
The fact that Trudeau is encouraging people to come here is also not helping things get better for anyone. all of the media i see on it says that a significant number of these people will not be allowed to settle in Canada anyways. We should be setting the right expectation for people so that those that will not be able to stay dont come in the first place.

According to this it sounds like they just get to go free and collect assistance while they wait around maybe 11 years for a hearing.

America is the best place to be in the world for Legal immigrants. The day I say that as a legal immigrant its fearful living here, is the day I become a leech with no contribution to society, family and myself. Then again Iâm a citizen.

Another highly abused visa is H1B and H2A temp workers.
Again, it really depends on the situation⌠any alien present in the United States must be in possession of their immigration documents at all times. At any point, an alien can be detained by immigration officials until that official is satisfied that the alien is lawfully present in the US. It is a misdemeanor, under 8 USC 1304(e), for an alien to not possess these documentsâŚwhich includes a fine and jail time. 99% of the time, discretion is usedâŚweâll run them through our systems to ensure their visa or residency is valid and then send them on their way.
If for any reason we contact an alien who has overstayed their visa, they are detained and set up for removal proceedings. Iâll try to sum this up as easy as I canâŚ
An alien is deportable if he/she was lawfully admitted into the country and subsequently violated the conditions of his entry. Common examples: Alien is issued a K1 visa to marry his fiancee, a US citizen. He marries her and then applies for residency aka. Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident (LAPR). After a year of living in NY, he is convicted of grand theft auto, and assault. He has committed two crimes involving moral turpitude (CIMT), he his now deportable. In this case, he will likely remain in the US unless he comes in contact with an immigration official who happens to run his criminal history. (this is why our POTUS is emphasizing local LE to work with federal imm. officials). The key to the word âdeportableâ is the fact that the deportable alien was at one time, lawfully admitted into the US. If the alien in this scenario was arrested by immigration, he would then be sent before an immigration judge, given a chance to plead his caseâŚand likely be deported back to his native country.
Now, letâs look at inadmissibility. An alien is deemed inadmissible if that alien was never admitted into the US, or was admitted, but gained entry by fraud (fraudulent documents, etc.) If this alien is contacted by an Immigration official, and the imm. official determines the alien is in fact an alien, he official will request valid documentation (which the alien will not have), at this point, generally, the alien will admit that he is here illegally⌠if he does not, that is another crime (false claim to citizenshipâŚwhich is nearly impossible to get a conviction ofâŚbtw). The alien will then be arrested and charged with âalien present without admissionâ (8USC 1182). He will then be set up for removal proceedingsâŚand be given the option of seeing a judge to plead his case and try to convince the judge to let him stay in the USâŚor he will waive his right to see a judge, and be removed from the US, back to his native country.
With all that said, every single alien has the right to claim âcredible fearâ of returning to their country, which 99% of them do. Credible fear does not mean they are afraid to return because there is no work, or there is gang violence⌠what is meant by credible fear is, the alien reasonably believes if he/she is returned to their country, they will be tortured or killed by their government because of their political/religious beliefs. Any alien claiming credible fear must state their claim to an asylum officer, and it is up to the asylum officer to make that decision.

Oh, another thing I will add⌠there is no system in existence that shows if someone is âlegalâ or âillegalâ, it is up to the immigration agent to determine that. Also, there is no system that alerts immigration officials of visa overstays⌠anytime a visa overstay is detained by immigration officials, it is usually because they were arrested by local law enforcement, who then notify the feds.
Yes, the US must pay to remove or deport aliens. Aliens know this too⌠for instance, a field worker in New York, here on an H2A visa decides to overstay his visa by 2 months. He then turns himself in to immigration officials, and they fly him back, on the government dime, to his native country. itâs quite comical.
Oh, and one last thing, you cannot deport, or remove an alien to a country that doesnât exist. HUH?! Say a male from the USSR crosses the US/MEX border illegally in 1989. He is never caught, and lives in the US for 10 years. He then decides to murder his wife. Heâs arrested and does 20 years in prison, because heâs here illegally, he is turned over to federal immigration authorities after he does his time in prison. Well, unfortunately, the USSR does not exist anymoreâŚso he stays. This happens more times than most people could imagine.

So basically if your POTUS starts talking tough and these people flee to another country like Canada itâs a good thing for your country and a bad thing for the country theyâre fleeing to. You know, what I said earlier before I was called âhopelessâ.
Also, many of these people fleeing to Canada are Afgani military absconders. (we pay to house and train them in the US, and they go AWOL and hightail it to Canada to claim asylum).
Imagine if all illegal aliens from the US ran to Canada? We have probably well over 30 million illegals in the US currently (please donât believe that 10 million BS number). Shit, Canada has a population of 35 million⌠if their population doubled in the matter of a couple years, all low skilled workers⌠their economy would collapse faster than the democratic party.
what i find interesting is that if you were to introduce 500,000 illegals into Canada the calculation for the nationâs unemployment rate would probably stay the same for marketing purposes.
