Its fast (honda salemen on a 03 Si testdrive)

and

“it will last and will hold its value” ~ GM salesman

“We can make your E30 as fast as Kevin Williams’ car.” - Hybrid

The only thing allowed by law(EPA) to turn on the engine light (MIL) is a fault that affects the vehicles emissions.

What year was the car?

Some check engine lights come on for periodic maintenance… and when the told her that it was on because she needed “an oil change, a coolant flush, and a tire rotation” all she remembered/understood to tell you was “a tire rotation”.

Just sayin.

its an '05 scion. yeah i thought about that too, but no it was the check engine light, and no she’s not car retarded, she understands most of the dealer BS. she brought it to another dealer and it turned out to be the cam sensor.

yeah thats what i thought.

Baught…

BWAHAHAHA!

Just to clear it up. My sticker wasnt expired. I’ve worked at repair shops that do inspections. I’m still learning what does and doesnt pass on the OBDII cars though.

“Oh, that piece/screw/bolt was broken when it came in.”

Standard answer to the question: “Did you change the oil regularly?” – “Oh, yeah. I always put Mobile 1 in it.” LOL

I took my impreza to monro for an inspection and the asshat’s there told me “Well, whoever did your brakes last put them all on backwards and now they are barely staying on there. We are going to have to replace everything. Luckily we are having a special on brakes right now…”

New set of brake shoes in the rears and I was good to go. Fucking idiots…

On my wife’s 07 Jetta. “For an extra $blablabla$, we can put this Lucas Fuel Injecor cleaner in that will clean your injectors and help you keep on getting good gas mileage.” I was like “It has 3,000 miles on it, It doesn’t need that.”

wrong, most cars sit on the lot from the factory a long time before bought. shit will settle in the tank from dirty gas, stale gas or water gas which can cause your fuel system to become dirty.when you run your tank to almost on empty now your picking all that shit thats at the bottom of the tank. a good fuel treatment can be a good thing even when it has 5 miles on it. i mean i wouldnt have a dealer do it but it is a wise investment. a lucas treatment for up to 25 gallons is 4.44 at Advance. its worth the 5 bucks. i put a fuel treatment/injector cleaner every 3,000 miles when i do my parents oil changes

$19.99 for us to top off your headlamp fluid…

My Mini had a special bottle with a dipstick for headlight fluid no joke.

That totally made my day when I saw that originally. It’s like some engineers sick joke, and a good one at that.

Always Monro, they must hand out a scam handbook for each new hire.

Or “those were missing when the car came in”. My VWs that had those little plastic lug nut covers always seemed to be missing 4 when I picked the car up after having work done. Either they broke them, or put them on the shelf and forgot about them. By the time I noticed and went back, they had no idea. Sure, I must have lost all of them on one wheel because of a pothole.:2fingers:

Those little pastic lub bolt caps they put on euro cars are the absolute dumbest thing in the entire world.

That said, it’s “sucks” that they left them off.
