You gotta be trolling. Do you honestly believe that your S14 can shit on an FD at the track? If you do, you really are better off driving a Civic.
lol. Yes, the RX-8 is more like rotaries for dummies. The 13B could take so much boost because of greater air intake over a piston engine. It’s just hard to make a complicated system reliable for people that can barely back out of a driveway, let alone read an owners manual.
What kind o prices can you get an FD for? I was considering getting a rhd one.

This video is 7 years old and still a good example of how fast a mild modded RX7 is.

yes feint 13b renesis is for dummys who dont like to know the true potential of the 13b motor family.
but hey even a 13b renesis could be a good car with few suspension mods and exhaust as simple as that here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiVXjji0BX0
ps: yeah feint i ve seeing some fd 93 and 94 s go by once in a while for like 4g. but most of them for being there is machenical reasons. lol lol wink wink. swap a cosmo spend some $$$. done deal.
depends where you get yo shit from but… hey… cali is like 1100 bucks. so how bad tax, flo, and GA could possibly be?
but on the other side… keep your s14 man. if i c that ugly bitch i know its you from like 100 miles away lol
^Sick videos. Even an FC Rx7 is a superior platform than our car… chassis, suspension, etc… the engine woes are mostly magazines and internet woes in my opinion… i bet most ppl who talk shit about rotaries never actually even drove a rotary powered car and don’t have a clue.
As beloved as my 240 is to me… sometimes i consider doing a trade for an fd rx7… i mean its not a stock 240 obviously lol… very built other than the motor… but i always debate myself… its a tough choice…
Thanks for sharing those vids i loooove the widebody fc rx7s… they look siiiick! The bodykits are so tasteful they actually make an fc look very exotic/modern.
Renesis is the RX-8 motor. If my recollection serves me correctly, the peripheral ports were raised, creating less overlap, and making it more difficult to boost while increasing fuel economy. FD’s were plagued by issues that mainly stem from it’s higher waste heat, mass produced/ dumbed down for the masses design, or cooling. All issues that can be corrected, unfortunately there were sacrifices made to make it more “simplified”… It’s a strange motor too. It NEEDS to be redlined. If you baby it you will kill your motor. Due to carbon deposits namely created by the OMP that squirts dirty crankcase oil inside the housing. Redlining helps prevent the deposits from forming.
Also if I were to drop the 13B in I’d rebuild it first. No way in he’ll I would be able to put that much faith in a person and consequently there engine. Too many variables in this instance.
well… if the motor is running and compression is good why not just dunk it in and rebuild it after 1 summer eh? like i said fuck rew lol
i would love to c you putting 20b cosmo in rx7. if you do ill pay you 100 bucks everytime i run into you on dundas lol catch me in my 07 hybrid yo! lol lol save enviroment so you guys can fuck it up even worst with 20b cosmo
9000$ ey? For that money go v8… ls2 + t56 in an rx7 still gona be a nice 50:50 setup… and save money or spend on boltons to make crazy v8 NA power and its cheaper to do in an rx7 than the mighty expensive swap kits in the 240. Been done way before in rx7s… hah there you go another pro-rx7 thing
To me the 240 is a nice beginner rwd car… but if you wana go faster, the rx7 is just a step up, i mean after all it was the flagship mazda car… I obviously have a 240 and love my 240 but these are the facts lol.
uuuuuh its called a motor… it makes power, better than alot of ‘jdm’ motors that you might have in mind.
What we drive are called cars, they have wheels and suspensions… uhm… they go vroom vroom… car has an engine, put a different engine in the car and it goes. Yeah…
The only hate I had on older v8s was that they were heavy and putting anything in a lightweight econo front engine’d sports car would have sucked big time unless you just want to go straight… but now pretty much everything is aluminum that comes out… so it’s a no brainer. More cylinders, more power, more displacement, better power band, as light in some cases lighter (eg: versus RBs and 2JZs), soo… yeaa Again hence my example, in an FD rx7 (a mid front ship btw) it comes down to 50:50 weight… and most of the weight is in the mighty t56.
