I’m glad there isn’t a lot of “red tape” to the classing. I’d rather run my session with the guys from this site (Adictd2b00st, MPD47, etc.) regardless if I was “out classed.”
I’d have to say I won’t want to run with rudeboy… lol

hmmmm this sounds pretty cool…any idea how far this place is?
In that respect it may be interesting to watch. I’d just hate to see people do this as there first event on a track. And actually it is minimum of $230 to participate, as you have to rent a transponder.
If a person wanted to participate I would recommend doing at least one track day there two weeks prior to the event, I would say at least a month (incase you wanted to order parts ect.) but the track doesn’t open that early.

I’d consider going to watch if it were like $10. It is not listed on midohio’s page as an event.
mid ohio rules. Yes the time attack is more like an autocross than actual door to door racing. Fastest time around the track or part of the track wins the bling.
Modifications are open to let people try new stuff out and see if it works.
Mid-ohio is “about a 3 hour” drive from the hamburg exit on the 90. thats ofcourse obeying the local speed limits.:eekdance:
I attended their tripple tuner chalenge weekend. it was neat to see a few autox ready guys do a run through madness (esses) at mid ohio.
they also had a small drifting exebition.
the camping setup is pretty good their and spectator viewing is excellent.
and mid ohio is also pretty good as far as safe runnoff in most places. if you get a tire or two off of the pavement. for those willing to run.
Something tells me I should finish up the toreass.
Hey everyone!
I was looking at our web traffic to our site and saw that someone came from this site to ours… So I figured I would sign up and answer questions. There seems to be some confusion, which we are to blame for.
We will soon be uploading each day’s schedule for the weekend at Mid Ohio. On Sunday, you can expect to receive about 2 hours of track time. Friday is an Open Track Day, running in 3 different groups, with sessions of about 20-30 minutes in length. So you can expect 2.5-3 hours of track time on Friday. Saturday is also an open track day and test and tune (for those people looking for some practice before the Sunday Time Attack).
The rules are very open for sure. Compared to SCCA and NASA classing rules, our rules are VERY liberal and open. We wanted to offer an alternative to the SCCA and NASA time trials and get away from the very compartmentalized rules structures. This is pretty much run what ya brung, with some rules in Street class and Modified class that bump more dedicated track cars and more heavily built street cars up a class or two.
Also, keep in mind that FWD competes against FWD, RWD with RWD, and AWD with AWD… There are nine classes overall… Street, Modified, Unlimited…and then FWD, RWD, AWD in each division. So if you are in a 1990 Civic Hatch on Falken Azenis, you dont have to worry about the SPEED World Challenge Acura RSX or the Buschur Racing EVO… They are in different classes. And trust me, the most capable car doesnt always win!
Regarding the entry fees: We are attempting to secure as much sponsorship as possible which will allow us to reduce the entry fees to the competitors. Trust me, I dont like having to charge $200+ for Time Attack. But we do need to cover our costs to run the event and also make sure the event we DO put on, is top notch.
If you have any questions for me, please post them here and I will do my best to follow the thread.
Thanks!
Nikolas
Thanks for clearing up some of the questions Nikolas, hope you stick around
After re-reading the website I see that Sunday will be structured with practice time in the morning and then Time Attack in the afternoon, correct?
So this means all cars will only do it once. I was thinking Sunday was going to 100% Time Attack.
I resend my bitching about track time
We will soon be posting this to our website:

question for nicholas…here goes…im assuming the price will be close to 200+? but my real question is can we split the cost and have 2 drivers for one car??? i know this will be hard and maybe impossible just a question, or will it be per driver cost and not per car cost?..also is there a limit on entries (to prevent extreme cluterage of participants)? can you post a listing of basic cars and classes? thanks a lot hopefully these can be answered. thanks
also how do you feel about cameras?? inside and outside?(the suction cup ones for the outside) thanks
is this the pricing???
Time: 7:30am – 5pm
Cost: $180 one day event
$380 two day event
$540 three day event
The price is per car, so yes, two drivers can share the one car, as long as the car stays in the same colored run group the whole day. No jumping groups to get extra track time.
Cameras are allowed and encouraged. We have many participants who use such suction-cup devices.
That is the correct pricing. If we can secure more sponsorship prior to the event, those prices will come down. We want to make this as affordable to our participants as possible.
So on Sunday each person gets to participate in session 1 and 2 of practice and session 1 and 2 of time attack…or does each car do 1 session of each to keep run groups smaller?
What’s the max # of cars allowed in street class?
wow this sounds great…i am really considering not jsut watching and participating if i go…
Mike,
Each participant on Sunday will run in both of their Practice Sessions, the 1-hour long Open Practice Session, and both Class Time Attack Sessions.
We are going to limit entry to roughly 20-25 cars per class (Street, Modified, Unlimited). If it looks like one class will have a low turnout, that will allow us to bump up the limit on the other classes. Our limit for overall number of cars is around 75 cars.
i mighta missed it, but how much does it cost to spectate the event?
Spectator admission is only $10. That is a one time fee, so if you come out on Saturday, you can get in to the track on Sunday with the same wristband (dont take it off). If you only want to come out for Sunday, it will still be the $10 fee.
I just had a thought about this… somebody needs to bring out a stock Z06 on Hoosiers just for reference. I’d bet the stock Z06 beats most of the tuner cars, just like it did a few years back in Car & Driver’s Superfours challenge. Just get it aligned and cornerweighted. Oh, and bring in a ringer driver just to make it even more fun, such as Andy Pilgrim or Tom Kendall…
damit…car will be in pieces…
