timing is off.

So I did a sr swap on my 240, finally done everything. I went to go start it today and it cranks, but no spark. What could it be?

Wow Heavythrottle even gives lists of diagnosis.

No Spark?
Check main ignition power wiring by battery and ECU. Also check for bad ignitor, bad coilpacks, bad ECU, shorted harness. Ignitor passes ECU pulse on to coil packs, crank the engine and test with multimeter for ignition voltage pulses at ignitor input and output to isolate source of problem.

(Google + Sr20 no spark = Answer)

bad wiring
bad ecu
bad ignitor
bad ground

just off the top of my head, down load a FSM and start going over your wiring

-make sure your fuel pump is getting power and working
-fuel filter is not clogged
-remove fuel injector and crank the engine to make sure your getting fuel

This has nothing to do with no spark.

okay so . i got all the ingredients to make a car run.
air , fuel and spark.
but it still doesnt fire up, just cranks.

then it is most likely a timing issue. Put your #1 cylinder to tdc then make sure your cas is in the right spot. After this is correct then try again…I don’t feel like giving more detail as this is readily available information.

By any chance is your timing set correctly? Did see anything that confirmed it.

well i took apart the valve cover, and the marks aren’t where the supposed to be.

how hard is it to set them?
and do i need any special tools?
