Tire fitment on my S13

I have a S13 Silvia with 5lug hubs and S14 16"wheels. My question is what is the widest size of tires I should be able to fit on my car without rubbing at all? I have the car lowered and the camber corrected. Right now I have 225 on the rear and 205 on the front, and the rears look close to rubbing on the lip of the fender if I went any bigger, and the fronts look like I could maybe get away with a little larger. However It seems a 215 and a 225 don’t match up very well for sizing, so I am not sure what I should go for. I want max traction in the rear, however I have a little under steer in the front that I don’t like. Any advice would be apreciated!
Thanks

Those sizes will work well with over 200ft/lbs of torque. Way too much understeer with less power. On a S13 the widest I’ve seen is 275. You can roll your fenders to prevent the lip from cutting your tires. To get rid of the understeer, I’d go 205 all around. Stiffer swaybars can help.

yea i have pics of a 315 on an S14. it would look ok on the back but the front looks awful. It need a lot of camber and a rolled and pulled fender at least

I got 225’s on the front of mine and I don’t rub the fender ever

I have 235 on the front and they dont rub on the fender, and my car is pretty low.

Cool, I think I shall see if I can test fit a pair of 225 for my fronts. Sadly I just put a new pair of 205’s on the front of my car at the end of last summer, so it will be alittle while before I need any new ones. Maybe i’ll put them on the back and burn them off!!
Anyway…Who can roll fenders without cracking the paint? And how much will I be looking at spending to get that done? I love the look of the rolled fender on the S13’s I have seen, looks like they are flared, without having to replace them, and a little wider rubber on the rears would be sweet when I pump up the boost to 13PSI!! I already have the camber arms for the rear and the plates for the fronts, so that’s not a problem, as long as the tires still fit when they aren’t at an angle leaning into the fenders!

The flare on a stock fender is called a pull. Rolling is just folding up the lip inside the fender.

Really, I didn’t know that…thanks!
Can one “pull” the fenders just as easily as rolling them? Or will that crack the paint for sure?

there is always the ghetto way of rolling your fenders. That is, louie ville slugger

Personally, I’d never do this to my car ever! But the people that have done it havn’t reported problems so its your call.
