I just got my HSD’s installed on my S13. Did a non-hicas subframe swap as well so running stock multilink arms at the back.
Holy crap does it feel agile, even without an alignment.
Its not super low, but I have 17x7 +47 rims (SE-R Spec-V rims) running 225/45/17s with 25mm spacers all around. On sharp right turns I can get the driver’s front wheel to rub. It seems to be rubbing on the screws and bracket that hold the fender liner up.
Should I raise the car a bit at the front, or get some negative camber going after the alignment? I did not expect it to rub, considering the rears have less wheelgap (although more neg. camber) and do not rub at all.
Also, adjusting these coils, will the adjustment knob stop if I turn it all the way to soft, or will it keep going? And how do people jack up their cars once they’re lowered, what’s the most efficient procedure with 1 hydraulic jack and 2 jack stands?
If you want to go lower and run wider tires, fender liners have to go… and watch out for the harness, although you shouldnt have probs with those tires i think…
for jacking up the car i just use the stock manual jack that comes with the car to raise it about an inch or two, then i slide the hydraulic one in and raise it up as much as i need to go. my car isn’t to low either but its low enough that a brick wont go under the front bumper. its not the most efficient way to raise a car but it works, btw the 2x4’s is a good idea ill try that next time.
two 2x4’s is good i drive up onto one and then add another one cause 2 dont fit under my bumper at once, dont be lazy, do your wire tuck now before you rub. there are many DIY’s for that and ^yeah get rid of the liner and hammer that lip flat against your fender that the liner attaches to. just hammer everything that the tire rubs paint off of and use rubbing marks on your tire as reffernce of where you are rubbing
