Tires rubbing...

Does anyone else have this problem?? I lowered my car and then the tires started rubbing on the inner fender liners. It was rubbing so bad that it burnt through the inner fender into that fusebox harness that goes along the top of the inner fender. And it actually burnt through the wire casing into the wires until the wires were just exposed metal. Does anyone else have the problem of the tires hitting that harness or is it just me?

240 I’m assuming? How many inches did the springs lower it?

Take out the inner fenders, and maybe just leave about 6inches at the bottom so that shit doesn’t get into your doors.

It would be alot of work but, you could guide the wires over the strut towers instead of under.

Or, maybe you need some better coilovers, wanna buy mine Ryan? :E

Works like a charm

Involves cutting and welding but was quite informative

Thanks guys!!! That info was awesome.
Hey Jeff I got a question for ya, are coilovers identical in the cefiro and the s13?

Yep!

Yep![/quote]

It’s True! :stuck_out_tongue:

definately hog that wiring harness up over the strut towers … it will let you get lower without wrecking more wiring

Yeah, i slammed my car pretty good this year and i removed my fender liners (but kept 4 inches to keep shit out of the door jams), bent up that inner lip (the one beside the harness), and then i just screwed in a skid plate for the tire to hit if it does get up that high. I think i am going to move the harness up top though, then i dont have to worry about anything. Rolling your fenders is the whip too, let me know if you want to get yours done.

Sure I would like to get my fenders rolled. If it’s free. How did you bend that inner lip? I was just thinking of using a hammer.

here is your cure…remove the whole inner fender…get a hammer and bach up the sharp metal seem by the strut…relocate harness through engine bay! you can now SLAM your S13
