To Hid or not to HID

so the more and more I begin to drive my car in the dark again, the more and more I realize even with the silverstar lights in my car, the 240 headlights suck BAD!!!

So I’ve been doing a little research and came across this kit from sylvania that still uses the 6054 housing. it can be found here: http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/hid-6054.htm

seems like a pretty reputable kit, from a reputable company. Price wise its fairly competitive with other kits on the market but for some reason this one really catches my eye.

Any input good or bad, let me know what you think

that would be pimp

HID that bitch. i love mine. fo shizzle

fo shizzle

:ricer:

that would be pretty cool.

I have HID’s on my bike. best mod i’ve ever done. just this morning 4 deer ran out in front of me at 5:30am. luckily i saw them much sooner than i would have without my HID’s.

I have/had HID’s till the bulbs burnt out and it costs $180 for replacements. Assuming the ballasts are still good I was thining about ordering the bulbs. HID’s > * in the rain, at night, whenever, they are very good to have for safe driving.

Let me give you some practical advice

my husband decided I need some sort of super bright bulbs in my Pontiac, because I drove mostly at night. For at least one entire year, everyone who drove past me flipped me their high beams. Then one night, some dumb guy was flipping me off because he thought I had my high beams on and then procedded to pull over and jump back behind the Pontiac and high beam ME until I decided that 15 miles an hour would be my top speed until he quit it. So if you want harrassed everytime your out at night… by all means… put 'em in.

I got a low beam kit for my Z they work fine.

that was the one thing I was worried about, but if someone is going to take to the task of following me they better be pretty fast.

Just adjust your headlights…its not hard!

Tell Euroshit that… He let me drive around for at least a year like that.

And you… if you are not fast enough to out run them… slow down is just as annoying.

with a car as low as a 240 unless your beams are aimed up you’re not gonna get flashed.

I had my H3 driving lights aimed up for a while last year and got flashed constantly. Saved my ass from a couple deer though

asshole blinded me for 3 mins one night :slap:

i LOVE my H.I.D. i never wanna go back to regular bulbs again now…i got stock GMC Envoy H.I.D. lows and silverstar High Beams and love it…

i just need to get a replacement low beam ignitor(bulb), right now even with a piddle i still get flashed then i hit my high beams back they quit real quick…lol

get them u will love them. i used to get flashed before i lower the whip even with the lights adjusted on the lowest setting (they are electricaly adjustable in the evo) but i rarely ever get flashed for them now that i am down 2 inches up front

how does popping in a bulb effect headlight alignment? it doesn’t!

I’m sure u could find a way to fuck em up by just replacing the bulbs there HULK!

I have an Acura TL with HID for High/Low beams from the factory. They suck as a high beam, but are sweet as a low beam. I rarely get flashed by peeps going the other way. I believe the perception by people is if yur lights have a blueish cast to them, they wanna high beam ya.

I plan on putting an HID on my bike soon. Definately a must for a bike. Should be standard equipment.
