Tom Brady: Most Hated man in Buffalo?

Yep. I started working for shit pay and worked my ass off. There is a lot of way to grow esp in IT but you need to not be happy with the norm and continue to grow yourself. So many people get happy working some mediocre job, don’t want to network and work hard and then complain for not going anywhere.

And as newman said, LZ’s math is off. We will leave the finance and math to Beck and the hacking to LZ.

Here’s 2 scenarios:

  1. You have a job that treats you well, has lots of benefits, you work 9-5 and you make mediocre pay.

2.You have a job that treats you like shit and demands long hours, work weekends, offers decent benefits and you work your ass off to make a ton of money.

I would say that is probably 75% of most jobs. Now there are a few of you who are qualified or know someone that got you a job that you don’t have to work that hard to earn a decent pay. Most people would rather take the easy way and make mediocre pay just to enjoy their free time and not have to work hard.

Again, false. If you look at the right companies, there is a lot of well paying jobs that understand personal life. My old job paid over time but I worked 60 hour weeks, had no social life, and continually was getting woken up at night for little pay. My new job pays a lot better and is just a better environment all around with room to grow. The good jobs are out there, you just need to find them and not settle to get bitched around in some low level job.

As I said, you are probably qualified for your job. Would you say there are more people without degrees, looking for well paying jobs these days?

Why do you imply that a job must be your only source of income?

2% of the 2% making more than $150k do it sitting behind a desk and working 9-5.

2% of the 2% making more than $150k do it sitting behind a desk and working 9-5.

How is that my problem or anyone’s? Go to college and become skilled in something. You can’t fight the system and want a well paying job. Yes there is people who manage to get into a career without a degree but over all, most higher level jobs require that expensive piece of paper that says they paid for 4 more years of school. I am self taught in my field. I did bitch work, worked minium wages working stupid tasks such as plugging in hundres of network cables at 2AM, and then I went to school for management and information systems at a state school so I had something that shows I am more than just a typical worker. On top of that and adding to my skill set daily by learning new things keeps me marketable.

Thank you.

I can respect that. I started out cleaning campers. Now I have gone to factories, training and schooling and now I can sell $500k RVs at the age of 24.

I don’t know many of my friends that put in the work I do or even come close. Most of them aren’t even close to the same tax bracket I am.

this thread is the worst in the history of NYSPEED. good job.

That’s a whole different discussion. I never implied that and im sure those stats include real estate if that’s what your referring to.

Agreed…if you have LOW “making it” standards.

Haha.

There is two types of people in this world: those who want to just get by, and those who want to be fucking awesome.

Theres a reason I used quotes and sarcasm pink on “the prestigious 1%”…

That said, Im pretty sure $200k is probably regarded as a very nice household income in 95% of communities in the US, and id still take making $200k here over $300k in NYC.

Most real careers will pay you the proper cost of living rate no matter where you lived unless the job was specific to a certain area and not in demand anywhere else.

+1

But, you would have to be making AT LEAST double in the NYC area to live a comparable lifestyle. NYC is a tough place to make it big.

Ughhh, this thread is just all over. Im not talking about simple job income. Im saying there are easier barriers of entry to investing in Buffalo for those with limited incomes as opposed to those in larger cities that may provide higher incomes. Im saying I think if you decide you can live in Buffalo, the ease of making good money (regardless of region) via investments, is better than the short term benefits of just simply having a higher job income. Most people are just too stupid to know how to make money in Buffalo but thats ok, as it gives us fiscally savvy folks a leg up.

So pretty much yeah, Tom Brady… most hated man in Buffalo

Cities with high rental ratios are always real estate investment havens. Couple that with the low real estate costs and you have some good cash flow

ps. I think people in this thread are having a tough time articulating their points. This thread needs to die but there’s no other interesting threads around.

I thought this was a thread about Tom Brady, instead its a thread about:

Household income should be kept… to the household.
