Toyota FT-86 / Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S *NOW TURBO*

Toyota did just re secure the Supra name and has 3 years to use it:

I was thinking baby LFA

It looks Genesis-yy

do people still have 56k? is it even offered anymore?

I saw that shortly after I posted…probably still going to end up sucking somehow :frowning:

Ehh…

The Subaru version doesn’t look bad:

“Sitting on a revised Legacy platform with the Impreza’s rear suspension and horizontally opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, we can expect Subaru’s version of the FT-86 to look not that much different than its Toyota twin. In contrast to the Toyota’s incorporation of a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer, which is said to feature a redesigned head unit and be good for around 200 horsepower, the Subaru rendition is rumored to employ a slightly modified version of the current 2.0-liter turbo, pumping out around 260 horsepower. Obviously both cars will also get the Impreza’s six-speed manual gearbox.”

that suby pic is just some random photoshop and nothing from toyota or subaru.

Ah ok. That GTR roof-line looked suspect.

Toyota wants to build a new model to honor its former chief test driver, Hiromu Naruse. Naruse recently passed away in an a collision while testing the Lexus LFA at the Nürburgring. If the whispers are true, the car won’t be a badge-job for the Camry. According to reports, Naruse always wanted to see Toyota produce an inexpensive, rear-wheel drive coupe that was affordable enough for the little guys of the world to be able to hop into the driver’s seat.

If you’re thinking there’s no way that Toyota will suddenly jump into the small rear-wheel drive market with not one, but two new products, think again. Autocar reports that the inexpensive two-door will slot below the sexy FT-86 and will be based off of the GRMN Aigo Hot Hatch Concept we saw at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. That particular concept got its grunt from a Daihatsu 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. More importantly, it rocked a double-wishbone rear suspension and swapped its front-wheel drive layout for a rear-driven arrangement. If the rumors are to be believed, we could see the car in 2012, just slightly ahead of the FT-86.

Do want!

i have doubts about Toyota doing anything cool.

Exactly, I guess that is why they have Scion

When the Toyota FT-86 concept was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, we were surprised and delighted at the prospect of an attractive, rear-wheel-drive 2+2 with a $20,000 price tag. Could we just as excited for a $25,000 RWD Scion? We may not have a choice.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Toyota management told dealers in Las Vegas there will be a production version of the FT-86 badged as a Scion model. The move would help bolster the struggling brand, which has been a bit product-starved of late. There are also rumors of a new price point – as high as $25,000 – and the possibility that the Subaru version will only be available in Europe.

While the report claims the FT-86 will be badged as a Scion, there is no definitive word there won’t be a Toyota variant as well. We’re sure to learn more this auto show season, as reports show that the production FT-86 could arrive at the New York Auto Show in 2011.

because when I see scions I think “cool”, lol… who knows, maybe this will help.

toyota has made one good car ever, and itll more than likely stay that way, toyota/lexus are so BORING

they’ve had a bunch of good things over the years…
