Tranny drain plug

im draining my manual tranny oil, and tha drain plug is a b!tch to take off. any special tools or different method to take it off? or to drain it? i need it drained asap, as my engine is coming out soon and this is basically one of the last steps to take my engine out!

thnx

Isn’t it just a 1/2" drive rachet?

If it’s tight - simply slip a bar over the end of your rachet for more leverage.

yes i used my torque wrench its got little more leverage to it

hopfully your not in the same situation that im in, i guess the person that had my car before tryed to impact gun it off and semi stripped it. so now i cant take the fucken plugg off. only way i can change fluids is to take the tranny out and drain it that way. sucks

jack the front end of the car up, and take the driveshaft out, it’ll drain out the rear fo the tranny. Not the best way to solve the problem, but better than pulling the tranny.

or weld a big bolt onto it

or weld a 1/2 breaker bar to it

or drill a hole in it reverse tap it and stick a big ass bolt in there

then get a new drain plug

I’m pretty sure they’re made out of aluminum.

I owned myself I guess. I had the same problem this weekend with the drain bolt on the rear end. It actually is steel, I just thought they were aluminum since I never really noticed any rust or anything on them and the fact that they seem to be as soft as aluminum and strip so easily. My mistake, weld away!
