It’s a pushback on the previous 40 years of legislated conservative morality. It’s still going on in Republican states- they keep voting to restrict abortion, LGBT’s, etc. as much as they can even today (and keep getting struck down)
The democratic party is not legislating morality, they’re trying to remove existing legislation on morality for the most part. Anti-discrimination laws are the one exception, and I actually disagree with them. You have enough like-minded people that will support your business, yes I think it should be able to stay open. Would I support your business? Hell no. But if others will, fine. But no, you shouldn’t be able to deny rights to your employees, etc. (IE refusing to pay for legally mandated birth control coverage because YOU don’t agree with birth control)

How is that denying rights? If you want birth control, buy it yourself, I as a business owner run it as I see fit, not you. Its an extension of ME not you, and if you try to force me to pay for something that is your choice, I will push back. I don’t owe you anything except for decent treatment.

Not to mention that your premise of “abortion” as somehow not legislating morality. If you take a nonpartisan view of the right of existence, you have as much right to live as any “fetus”. It’s all a mess. If you hit a pregnant lady and ahe has a moscarriage, you can be charged with murder. At the same time we are only a few votes away of passing full term abortion and 24-48 hour gestation period abortion. There is no clear conversation on why one life matters and another one doesn’t. So at this point it’s all based on whether or not a woman says yes or no to the baby. If you have a problem with that, you are “anti woman, anti rights etc etc”. How about we have a real discussion about things like what gives you the right to live. God, the Universe? Societal feelins at that moment?

It’s funny to hear conservative Christians ramble on about how things should be based their imaginary pokemon in the sky, and then condemn Muslims for rambling on about how things should be based on, of course, their imaginary pokemon in the sky. I’m really curious how many more thousands of years society will keep ripping itself apart because the voices in their heads and their ever changing interpretation of man written books said it’s the right thing to do.
Gay people getting married literally affects no one except the gay people that want to get married. Making laws telling them NO because you don’t believe in it is NOT gay people forcing their “liberal ideals” on you, it’s you trying to continue to force your conservative ideals on them.
Go on about the constitution however you’d like, just remember that very first amendment was based largely on keeping your religious ideals out of the government and laws. After that, feel free to praise the other amendments that you deem to be clear and non bendable. If people marching for equal rights is offensive to you, realize that you are the problem.
There’s a difference between changing a law to allow for gay marriage and trying to force it on everyone in society by way of changing textbooks, books and cartoons to teach children to be “more inclusive”.
This nation is supposed to be a nation where you are respected for being a person, not your religious or political views. The liberals have now changed the nation to a point where you cannot publically say things that aren’t in line with their views. Whatever you post online and in public now effects employment. They try to indoctrenate our kids through public schools with their same ideals. That is a far cry from just “allowing gays to get married”.
On its own, I am for what many libertarians stand for, the issue is that the liberals/democrats don’t care for that. They want everyone in society to believe the way they do and if you don’t, you will pay for it. It’s happening everywhere.
Look at North Carolina, how the hell is it ok for the government to punish a state for something they pass? We are supposed to be a free nation where you have people gather to do what they believe in. If you don’t agree with a certain state, don’t go there! But again, they ARE trying to legislate their own worldview. Every time they talk about somebody who doesn’t support “gay rights” “abortion rights” etc they call them everything from far right, to extremists, radicals, bigots and all manner of other disrespectful names. If you cannot be nice to me and be friendly and courteous and respect me for who I am (sound familiar?) Then you are nothing but a coniving self centered prick. Just another dick who thinks that he/she has the perfect world view. The modern take on an Englishman who needed to wear a wig to feel important.
The point is, these are globalist idiots who don’t care for the concept of American values and American exceptionalism. To them, the idea of nation states with their own national identities is the bane of humanity. Look at the reaction to Brexit of most liberals. That’s why they all keep saying things like “People are swayed by the fantasy of Make America Great Again, a fantasy that there used to be some golden age in America”. Which makes no sense since they are the loudest when it comes to “the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer”. They have their own alternative view of American history that is apart from reality.
Here’s where I’m loving it, unless they physically so something to me, on the stage of business and work ethic etc, they are pumping out a generation of people that stand no chance on competing with me, I will obliterate them at every turn. secondly, police officers (especially in large cities) are not proactive…they are reactive…meaning, they don’t search for criminals, they respond to 911 calls…
I have been a big Trump fan but his VP choice has pushed me away. I know he wanted to capture the far right vote but that killed it for me. I was hoping for a more moderate, middle leaning VP to pull votes from people who hate Hilary.

not sure what point you’re trying to make? Generally, if they do respond to small mischief, it is due to someone (concerned citizen) calling it in, in which case, there is an obligation to respond. With that in mind, many police forces are so overwhelmed, those calls are not high enough priority to respond to.

I wasn’t a fan of his choice, either…but it’s not like the VP is anything more than a ribbon cutter & ceremony attender.
Typically you are right but he has been very open in saying that his VP is pretty much going to run the country and he is going to be hands off so this makes a very big issue of essentially we have elected an ultra right win conservative esp since he has said he is not sure how many days he will serve in office when he was asked if he would accept it.
When has Trump ever said that? Other than the hearsay from Kasich who clearly doesn’t have an agenda of his own.
He is very iffy about the topic. I wouldn’t out it past him if he just did it for show so that is what worries me that the VP role has a whole new take in this election.
