Im with you but the way I see it, we have two religions as the choice at this point. Far left or far right, and that is because of the supreme court nominations that the next president has to make that really do shape the lives of Americans. If there was a viable option that’s in the middle, I would go with that. If I have to pick then it will be that which aligns more with my daily life and values.
Some people may say that Hillarys picks will be better because it will keep religion out of the supreme court/politics but that is far from the truth. I come from a country that used to be part of the Soviet Union. The USSR was extremely far left and officially atheist. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t religious, atheism was the religion where Kremlin was the replacement of God. You could see that in the way people worshipped people like Lenin, and still keep his body preserved. Look at North Korea, it’s similar. At this point that is the same choice we have in this country right now.
Extreme left and extreme right.
As a side note when this whole process started I was very much against Trump. However when all these people from both parties started undermining the Democratic process and literally telling people that they don’t care what you think as long as you vote the way they want. If you dont you are a moron and your opinion doesn’t/shouldn’t matter. That got me.
and that party where B.E.D. had to listen to a democrat and bite his tongue…I would consider hearing that guy say he’s voting Johnson a massive victory.
Knowing that it’s a 2 way race, either Trump or Hillary, I will vote for the one that aligns more with my beliefs, not against. If Gary had any possibility of winning, he would be my choice. I used to be a Ron Paul guy.
It’s a logic loop. Everyone hates having to vote for two shitheads, so they choose the lesser of two evils, they say that a 3rd party candidate can’t win so they don’t vote for him, thus only perpetuating the two party strangle hold on this country.
The two major parties are almost caricatures of themselves at this point, people are viewing them as demi-gods in their own right. The political division and social division is absolutely horrid in this country. You can only be PRO this or ANTI that, for HIM or against HER, there’s no gray area anymore. Those aren’t choices, that isn’t democracy.
I agree with you but for me its now like this, a vote for Gary is the same as voting for Hillary. It comes down to voting for what could personally hurt me or be in my favor. Ideally I would vote in the way that is neutral but this country is so polarized that you can only help or hurt yourself, theres no choice that benefits you AND others.(the libertarian approach of allowing everyone to do what fits their life)
Your vote doesn’t matter anyway. Every time I start to get behind the concept of the majority all coming together and voting for our 3rd party savior, it comes back to the aggravating fact that we really can’t vote anyway. It’s not a vote by the people that elects a president, it’s the electoral college. I remember trying to understand it and being frustrated in grammar school. Why do we vote for the president at all? Always was told that we vote the officials who want to represent the people into local branches of government, and those people essentially do the presidential voting for us because otherwise there would be too many votes to count. The whole thing still frustrates me to this day. At this point why does anyone vote for president? Why if it’s just the electoral college that counts?
That’s not how the electoral college works. If you have a bone to pick it should be the fact that living in a solid blue state gives you 0 voice in the presidential race outside the primaries.
The lies and deception from the Dems keeps piling on but you would never know it because Trump offended a Muslim so that is the headline news. This country is so fuxored.
Yeah it’s been explained a few ways here but voting 3rd party is a waste of time. And I’ve always thought that someone who’s practical enough to be a libertarian also has to be practical enough to realize voting libertarian won’t do anything.
Trump is your only chance, probably in your lifetime, to vote for someone far enough out of the system to be considered an outsider.
Nah, think about it. If Trump loses the RNC will never allow someone outside of their control to run like Trump did ever again. Maybe they’ll even setup superdeligates like the DNC. And if you think the DNC is going to actually make it easier for people like Bernie to win, or give up working behind the scenes (see leaked emails: Debbie W. Schultz) to not favor one candidate over another you’re dreaming.
Both sides see what happened this election cycle and will tighten control. Power always consolidates. Unless Trump wins and breaks the Republican party control.

Trump is basically a 3rd party candidate running on one of the two major party tickets. If he can’t win I highly doubt in my lifetime I’ll ever see a successful 3rd party run for president.
And down ticket, sure you can vote for a senator or congressmen from a 3rd party but when they get to Washington then what? They have to decide who to caucus with. And there are only two choices; DEM or GOP. If they decide to buck the system then what? Fat chance getting on any commissions or committee assignments.
