It was really sad to see the Skyline sitting there like that. Not as sad as the story Cory was telling me about. I guess they had some dude pick up his SR20 powered 240 yesterday after a fresh engine swap, on the way home he blows a rad hose. Calls Cory, decides to bring it back to the shop. On the way there, he let the engine get so hot that Cory said the temp guage was off the cluster, and now the motor sounds like it is completely fucked.

Cory said that it happened to them before they turned the car over to him, and they think now that it might have been a defective rad cap. But if I just put a couple grand into the car and a rad hose blew off, I think I’d be pulling my ass over. Just a thought.
Me too. I’d be pulling over and not moving it until it had some coolant. Thats a shame.
Yup…Cory figures the whole engine is buggered. He said it won’t hold coolant, it has no power whatsoever, and it’s backfiring like mad. Kinda like driving Bryce’s Pathfinder. :E
C’mon I’m surethe Pathy at leasts holds coolant.
Apparently the head gasket is so cooked that it was shooting coolant all over the place. Not my words.

Also… are the stock Z32 turbos the same as the GTR’s? If so that might help you find an OEM turbo or two without getting one from Japan.
Can we say Airlock in the cooling system, that is the only reason the hose would blow or defective thremostat.
Could be. The stupid part is that the dude ran the freakin’ car until the motor practically melted down…Cory said they waited all morning for the motor to cool off after the dude brought it in, so you know there was some serious heat under there.
A lot more than just a manifold. Downpipe, intake, fuel management, injectors, etc etc.
And a new turbo…
