Well turns out the kid drove the car while it was over heated for a very very long time. Like an hour or two.
The temp gauge was stuck on High, and passed vertical.
The knock sensor was melted to the block.
The Coilpacks were melted to the spark plugs and the valve cover (coolest part of the engine, and it was hot enough still to melt that hard plastic).
The oil was cooked, and smelled like popcorn.
The head is warped
And cylinder walls are not looking good at the moment.
To me, if you see your temp gauge heating up, you don’t drive for over an hour still just because you have to run errands. Regardless of what the problem was, you just don’t do that, and he deserves what happened to him. Prime example of someone that shouldn’t own a car.
Also, I don’t think he needed to tell Neil he drove it for an hour. It was sorta obvious by the damage done to the motor. Coilpacks don’t melt after 10 minutes of overheated driving. That was some serious serious heat going through there.
Hmmm. I do not know if you have found turbo’s yet but here are some stockers that you could use http://www.northwestnissans.com/board/showthread.php?t=31524
and you would have a spare head so when you do build your engine you can port the fuck out of one
I had talked to him earlier in the week, he did buy the turbos and was waiting for them to arrive!!
I did tell him before that he could cruise with me if he wanted to!! I said my car is nowhere near his GTR, but still gets ya there!! a lot slower, but gets ya there!! lol
Bought the turbos but its “golden week” in Japan so they cant ship them out till the 6th may, so if im lucky ill have the car back on the road the weekend after that 14th ish, if im lucky
And yes PyreXXX i love you a little less without my turbos
