Turbo/NA

Ya they have got some good prices…

I was in the same situation a couple years ago. Didn’t know what kind of motor to build, priced different set-ups, asked a bunch of people what they thought. 9 out of 10 people on PittSpeed said turbo, so I build a somewhat mild all-motor B18C.

If you’re into spirited driving (not that straight line stuff :booty: ), then all-motor is the way to go. Instant power, little wheel spin, it’s a lot of fun.

Make sure you get the parts you want the first time. I had to settle for Skunk Stage 1’s because the Stage 2’s were on a nationwide backorder at the time of my build. Since then there have been a lot of really nice street/strip cams released. Skunk Pro 1’s, Buddy Club Spec 3’s, Rocket Motorsports M22x.

Now I’m doing some of it over again with bigger cams and more compression.

Cheeks had a 13.5:1 c/r all motor monster a few back with IB spec Super Dupers and huge cams that he drove on the street. Might want to talk to him about building your motor.

You need to empty your PM inbox.

Do u think its worth it to just save for the b18c1 or the b16 and fully build the head then throw a b20block on it and have a crvtec…and did u do put ur own cams in did u take it somewhere because i really dont wanna pay $55 a hour if i just can do it myself lol…

PMs deleted…

turbo = more fun :bigthumb:

i was gonna do a ls-vtec setup with ctr pistons and stuff but i decided on ls-turbo and i cant be happier. allmotor is cool if you got deep pockets. if not i would say stick to a simple turbo setup and im sure youll be happy. once you go boost you never go back

What kinda turbo setup do u have…

If I were to build my bottem end again, I’d definitely go with a 2.0 liter. Whether it be a bored out GSR motor or a sleeved B20 VTEC. I wouldn’t waste your money on a B16 if you’re going all-motor.

If you decide to go turbo, I’d stick with just an LS or B20 also. Forget the VTEC, SlowCivic ran awesome times last year with his turbo LS. Just sometimes you have to replace axles. lol

Hybrid put my cams in. I don’t trust myself enough to build the internals with all the money I put into the motor.

he will be the first to admit if he had a vtec head we would hit 600hp on same amount of boost

they say a fully ported/camed ls head doesent flow as good as a stock gsr head…

cory, swap the 4g63 in there…

dsm+honda= :frowning:

I want to see your car, I hear its sick. I show much honda love. I own a vx hatch myself…

Oh definitely a VTEC head would help if you’re going for huge numbers. But 4 and 500 hp is certainly attainable with the LS.

I guess it all depends on how much money you’re willing to spend and how far you want to go with it.

I’m ditching my LS for a bored/sleeved GSR in the near future. Mainly for the head, but I got a deal on a bare block. So now I’m able to run my LS while I buy up parts. No down time.
