I have a s13 late model blacktop sr20 and it has the stock T25 turbo on it. It’s burning oil however due to worn oil seals on the turbo. I will be removing the turbo from the engine tomorrow to take a closer look.
I have a blown hks gt2540R turbo but it was only used to a short period of time before it blew.
So my question is, is it possible to use the oil seals from the hks turbo and replace them with the worn out oil seals on the stock turbo?
… regardless of what you do, taking the turbo apart to change the oil seals will require you to re-balance the rotating assembly. Also a T series ’ wet bearing ’ turbo ‘long kit’ rebuild kit is cheap. Do it right the first time save yourself the hassles.
