TV shopping - need help!

I PM’d you

1080p 120hz is the sweet spot. If you take a trip to bestbuy and look at the 1080p 60hz vs 120hz the difference is pretty shocking. like 720 vs 1080

editted * meant 720

u mean 720 vs 1080?

Looks like a deal, but 60hz is weaksauce

I agree. 1080p +120hz is money. Can’t really make a decision from the store however. All the TV’s are set to “display mode” - there is a ton of foolery in TV buying these days.

120HZ or more is tits, Bravia tv’s are tits!

way too $$ for what u get

+1. Sony is OVERRATED. They have all the same specs with a higher price tag. I say this from experience.

LG & Samsung FTW

I will agree with that too. Sony you really are just paying for a name. I have not seen any quality issues with and samsungs or LGs. Find a good deal with 1080 and 120hz.

240hz is just too urealistic for me

I have been biding my time on buying a new TV. The brand is really not an issue, as the LCDs have become so easy to make. That being said dont buy “imgonnabreak” but you dont have to buy Sony, LG, etc. etc. (Granted if its a good price get it.) Plasmas lose color quicker over time, but its not a huge deal. 60Hz was good enough last year, why is it crap now? I have narrowed my search to a 32"+ 60Hz minimum, I only have one HDMI supported thing, thats my PS3, so 1080p is not necessary, for me anyways. I did find Walmart has a Sharp 42" 60Hz 1080p for $500, that I think I am going to get today…

How do you know that Samsung I listed is 60hz?

Product number.

LN40B550 is 60hz
LN40B650 is 120hz

Look for sneak peeks at Black Friday specials for anything you buy.

Oh I see.

I have a 60hz 26" (it’s older, so it’s def 60) and I love it. 120hz is over kill unless you can afford it.

Only 720p though…?

I have 720p right now, for that price, that’s not bad. My 720p is fine.

Thanks PJB. :lmao

Yea, if I noticed that too about the TV being 720… I think I’m going to want to go for a 1080.

I’m at work, so I’m just checking in on this thread quickly when I have the chance, but so far looks like a lot of good info… thank you!

Tonight I should have time to go through everything without rushing.

ok come back when u know what we are talking about. thanks. :thumbup

720p is fine for daily use. u dont notice the differance unless u are 5’ or closer.

Well maybe Ill be 5’ or closer. Dont make me slap you at the gym again, I dont like hitting you :lmao
