I have the MTX Biggest Boldest Loudest series Component Speakers/Tweeters which are amped by an Eclipse Amp.
While driving earlier the right side door tweeter just stopped working. The component at the bottom of the door still works but the tweeter doesnt.
Is it possible to just blow only one tweeter or did it short?
Please let me know
its possible, altho i’d lean towards it coming disconnected from the crossover. if it was blown it’d most likely still play but sound like ass. i’d check that first
dude i bet the connections just pulled out, the passenger side i forgot to double check your connections, the driverside i went over all of them.
speakers dont blow out like that unless you melted the voice coil
check to see if there is an oveload cut off breaker or something
i think its his amp cutting out, he says the volume gets cut out pretty bad if he goes above a certain volume, ill be checking it out tomarrow
Check the crossover settings if here set to high the volume will cut in and out. also a speaker/woofer can stop working without melting a voice coil you can blow a tinsel lead which in that case no pwer goes to the coil so you get no noise but really it doesnt sound blown just trace the wiring and checkthe xove settings
after checking everything out the passenger tweeter WAS indeed blown. the volume problem was the DSO on the HU was set too high and kicking the amp into saftey mode.
