:BS: No way in hell you averaged 32mph for half an hour looking for a parking spot.
well if u consider the fact that i made a few trips around the JJ Audubon/North Forest/Millersport loop cuz i didnt want to wait in traffic in the university.
thats because its the beginning of the semester, and the beginning of a new year. give it a few weeks.
i lived in dorms or on-campus apartments for all of undergrad, but for grad school i had to drive in. pay lot FTW. its soo worth it to pay the $3 or whatever it is and not have to dick around looking for a spot. plus, the pay lot is a lot safer in terms of door dings and other random parking lot asshattery. i parked my civic there all the time with no problems whatsoever.
i keep thinking the pay lot because of the safety thing, but then i reason with myself and think “well, im only driving my nice car for like 2 months out of the whole school year, and im driving a paice of shit the rest of the time so i dont care” but i might just have to look into this. i would immagine they are full by now?
ive seen ur car parked right outside of bell hall
i hate you for it
ehh there is a time frame i think to get the full year pass, or you can just pay on the spot if you decide you want to use it. thats what i always did. some days i had early classes so i didnt need to, but when i had afternoon classes i would just pay the 3$…
thats hilarious
ive definitely followed ppl who were going to flint apartments
I haven’t had much trouble this year. The most I’ve done is drive around jarvis for about 10 minutes at around 2 pm. I don’t follow people either, just drive around until I come across a spot or somebody just about to leave. Monday, wednesday and friday are 8:00 classes so no trouble there. I used to just go to the farthest governors lot. You can try Fargo too, its not a bad walk. It will get better as we get more into it i’m sure.
Luckily I have not got any door dings on my car yet, but when I can and if I get there early enough I like to park in a parallel spot to eliminate the possibility of assholes
parallel spot only keeps you safe from the door ding assholes. it makes you very vulnerable to parallel parking retards though.
the parallel spots at UB are very spacious at least for my little car, but you do have a point
:word: Last year I saw someone try to parallel park, and not joking take 10 minutes to complete the task, and run into the car behind her a good 5 times.
Parking isn’t a big deal as I have to be there at 8:30 everymorning, and ride to the south campus.
enduro ftw… studded tires in the winter haha
i watched the same thing today…hot blonde driving a cavalier. couldnt paralell for shit. i made a full circle of all the Jarvis lots and came back around ahd she was STILL trying to park that fucker!
Last week I did the make a spot thing (parallel) by the CFA between the upper mini and lower lot. Now I live in South Lake so no worries about parking.
I have to park in the bookstore lot. It sucks when they say 50 minute parking, but they don’t enforce it. You see students park their car and walk to the bus to go to south campus.
Plus the amount of people that park 2 or 3 cars after the row ends is bullshit. If you park in the outside row, you can’t even back up.
But the walking with the keys in my hands through the lot to only get something out of my car while a person follows you row to row and I shake my head no when I finally get to my car > *
And
means something. If you aren’t or don’t have the tag, don’t park in the spot assholes…
/rant
yeah after having lived on a busy block of elmwood and watching more atrocious parallel parking attempts than most people probably have, you wont see me leaving a nice car in a busy parallel parking area unless i absolutely have to.
ahhh reading this thread makes me so happy to be done with school
Special Events lot. Get there a little early. Stop being lazy and walk.
Park and Ride.
I’ve never had a problem.
Blah blah blah… yes we all know it’ sucks… the earlier you get there the better you are… show up and follow someone to their car… that’s what EVERYONE else does and why you can’t find a spot.
