UBRF Track Day

Nobody should bank on being able to use a “spare” helmet. Bring your own, they are not expensive. Didn’t we just have a group buy a few months back on Bell helmets? I don’t even think people spent $150 on them. Plus this isn’t auto-x you will be going at a faster rate of speed. A proper fitting helmet is even more important during a lap day in case something goes wrong.

I agree a harness is probably a bad idea. Just about no one ever knows how to install one correctly. When install incorrectly they can do much more damage to you than good. I doubt very many people actually have a proper cage at the right height to mount them to.

i’d love to have the new ride by then, if I do, I’m in.

I’m in.

so a helmit is NOT mandatory??? I dont know if i wanna spend 250 dollars on the track day and then another 150 dollars on a helmit for 2 hours of track day. I honestly dont think i will ever use it again since i no longer race.

Where do you get that from? The rating system for the helmet is what we haven’t made mandatory yet. I would like to enforce the SA standard period, however M and K may be allowed. Maybe DOT will be allowed. Again Joe and I will sit down and discuss the specifics.

i have access to a helmet which is good…so i’m set

A properly rated helmet is always recommended: SA95s are still good for this year. Weather this will be enforced or not I do not know.

As far as firesuits, always recommended; however for a track day the MINIMUM gear should be LONG SLEEVE COTTON SHIRT, COTTON PANTS/JEANS, LEATHER SHOES. The key thing is wear ‘natural’ materials, i.e. materials that are not going to melt and stick to your skin.

this quote is telling me that the minimum gear is long sleeve, cotton pants/jeans, leather shoes. I t does say that a helmit is recommended. Sorry if i read and comprehend what is typed above.

A properly rated helmet is recommended.

A helmet, any helmet period is (or should be) a given.

What will be enforced has not been decided and/or said yet.

whether u have to borrow one or not a helmet is required…i have a question about tires…obviously i will run my auto-x tires (azenis prolly)…but should i just drive there on them or change them there…i just dotn want customs to be a bitch…IMO Azenis since they are a street tire should be able to handle a 1hr ride there and back correct

i’m down for a few laps of legal racing, anybody want to ride shotty??

Why don’t you think they’ll handle a 1 hour drive.

You have a legitimate reason to have extra tires with you. Now if you depress the valve stem and smell the chronic coming out that is a different story…

i only say that because they will have a few auto-xs on them…but it shall be fine…on a side note ur opinion Kumho Mxs or Azenis

Kumhos have a few firsts in nationals. Azenis RT-615 and RT-215 did better in the GRM comparo. They are both a good tire. Personally, I’d go with the cheaper one.

Hrmm… nothing I can commit to just yet, but I would love to smack some people around with a 120hp diesel.

i dont know if this was already answered…i dont think it was already, but…

is this going down rain or shine? or will there be alternate date(s) in the event that we do get some rain?

We could cancle the event if it rains, but the track will still have half our money.

So, yes it is rain or shine.

and when is money due by?

.

also a note to all…

if you cant afford the money for the track rental… you definitely cant afford to track your car.

this is not a cool thing to just go out a try, unless you plan on driving like miss daisy… if you take a turn too fast you will most likely do damge to your car… which will be in toronto, not in the southtowns where someone can come pick you up and tow your car home. so if you want to “learn in the ea twisties” or whatever, no offence, please stay away from this event, for you crashing your car will cut out on our track time
