Underbody rust prevention

that’s it.

looks like there is no one in WNY using it???

probably a good business opportunity for someone.

Wait is this ‘on-the-go’ service? Can they come to me @ Brooklyn? How do they get under the car without a lift?

What mixture do you use when mixing up a batch? Thinking of trying this next weekend.

Linex

Bringing this thread back from the dead because my 92x is clean and I want to keep it that way…

Ruststop from Schmidt’s is still the right choice? If you’ve used it, are you still happy with its results over the years?

Any more feedback about Corrosion Free being tons better? Curious as to whether it’d be worth it to trek over to a shop that does that instead.

Anyone hear of a ‘carwell’ treatment?

On page 3.

Fantastic bump. I was going to start researching this over the weekend.

It looks like there’s a Canadian Tire that does Corrosion Free in Niagara Falls. A little torn between supporting a local shop (Schmidt’s) and getting what might be a better product (sounds like CF might make less of a mess of the undercarriage).

Thanks, I just did a quick browse and must have missed it. If I drive my CTS in the winter I will be most likely getting this done.

Bump, almost that time of year again. Heard about this system on the radio the other day and was curious on people’s thoughts on it: http://www.theautosaversystem.com/index_en.php

I have never heard of it before and briefly browsed online for people’s experiences with it. If anyone has tried this, I would be interested to hear your results.

I want to completely tear down my winter car and cover every square inch in por 15. The problem is that I don’t know how well it will adhere to painted surfaces. If it doesn’t peel off it should be an impenetrable barrier.

I’ll be taking my truck to carwell, most likely sometime in October.

you can also use a product called fluid film … comes in either a rattle can or gallon size can … works amazing … basically the same product as carwell or Schmitts

you can pick it up at dival safety

Anyone hear of http://www.ziebart.com/ ?
Seems to be the only rust proofing place I can find near me.

Give it a shot…any coating is better than nothing.

Going back to Carwell again this year. I will note that I DO NOT wash…DO NOT wash my truck from Fall until Spring. I wait for the thaw before I wash it. You can wash your car/truck with Carwell product on it. But, I choose not to.

Great product for those in the WNY area.

wonder how much a corrosion free treatment is and if it actually works?

bumpin this up again. I know it’s early but might as well figure out what I’m gonna do now rather than later. So are Schmidt’s and Carwell the top two places to go? I had Schmidt’s rust stop protection done to my car about 5 years ago…and then got t-boned 2 weeks later and that was it for that car. I never got to see how effective it was and have since driven a series of beaters that weren’t worth protecting. Now I have the wife’s car and my own that I’d like to keep relatively clean for the next few years. Both cars have very little rust underneath or on the body anywhere. I still plan to take them to the carwash regularly though. I know people say if you wash often enough, that will do the job, but I’d still like the security of having some rust preventive maintenance done prior to the winter season.

Carwell for my '12 wrx.

ive used carwell for the past 4 years on my truck, no rust at all. i had it done at trucks maintained on burkhardt in cheektowaga off of walden.
