It would be amazing but it wont happen. Power hungry people want to stay in power. There are very few politicians that are actually there for the people’s interests these days.

Probably north and south new york or New York SAR they’d call it.

They are pritty much separate as it is though even the laws are different once you enter the city. So why not have them secede. We’d have a lot more in our pockets because of it.

All of nys funding goes there now and has really been a leech on the rest of the state. If they cut it off the rest of us would have more to go around.

Thanks to high unemployment up here(other than govt jobs) you are probably correct.
No jobs = no tax income for the state. Now if they could just figure that out in Albany…

I vote they just take it a step farther than the current system and have distinct laws / tax policies for the city and surrounding counties and the rest of the state
