URGENT: Insurance problem inside. Need new agent that covers turbo cars

go to unicef

hahah, you fucked up.

:word:

+1

Same with drag racing or road racing at the track. You smash it up, you get it pushed off the property, call the insurance company, then worry about a little thing called insurance fraud…not a good outcome if caught.

next time ask here first! could have saved you some misery.

something interesting to note. I talked to my local allstate adjuster about what would happen if my “friend” who was also insured with allstate got into an accident on the race track at watkins glen during a driver’s school which is not timed and not a race. He told me they would cover it if it was not a competition event and that he personally had never denied a claim. He did warm me to make sure my car looked like a street car – if they saw it all stickered up and/or caged then he would have a hard time selling it to corporate that I wasn’t committing fraud the whole time (assuming a wreck) and trying to claim normal street car.

What the above said.

I took my A4 in for a photo inspection this summer when I put it back on the road with GIECO.

I few weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying how they noticed my car did not look stock and to please fill out this form, asking me to list the mods done to the car… So I lolz and tossed it in the trash…

As long as someone else hits you all the stuff will get covered, but if it’s your fault you’re kind of fooked.

When my MKII Jetta got hit they tried giving me a check for 2G’s my MOMO seats at the time cost close to that. I was told by the woman’s insurance company that I could not remove anything form the car. Well I gutted the bitch and fought with her company for five months. I ended up getting a check for 6G’s and eneded up keeping all the mods… Lesson, don’t ever give in to the first price they offer you.:thankyou:

nans able agency on borden! A++

yeah actually, they never said shit when i had the initial photos taken with a carbon fiber hood, bodykit, wheels, etc…

I am surprised that you did and i didnt lol.

Welp, lesson learned I guess…I just was reading topics about people getting aftermarket parts insurance and thought I would see if I was offered it…shouldda listed everything EXCEPT the turbocharger

you’re still missing one thing = the fact that most stock parts cost more than aftermarket parts.

let’s say you put a $1000 sparco seat in the car and it gets stolen. The factory seat probably costs $2500 from the dealer.

so are you telling me you want to pay extra so that they will give you less?

good point, dually noted

Call up allstate, I insure my supra with them. I have a policy is based on the appraised value of my car because did not want to get totally screwed if anything did happen to it. Like everyone else mentioned no insurance policy will cover you on the track.

i added an endorsement to my car for all mods…performance and otherwise…i think it was an extra $75/year for the peace of mind. Didn’t get dropped, they were happy to take my money.
That’s just to cover if some fool steals the crap or it gets damaged beyond repair on the road.

I have never assumed that a track day would be covered. Maybe one specified as a non-comp training event. But I figure if I trade paint, I have to take responsibility for that.

thanks spencer, i WAS considering allstate…I’ve got a pretty clean record, no points…one accident in my dad’s truck when i was at a stop light not at fault…doubt an appraisal of the focus would go well at the moment lol

Over the summer I stopped at my broker’s office to drop off some forms for my brother’s policy and while I was there I asked about the track thing.

Me: “Am I covered if I go to the track?”
Her: “Wut”
Me: “Nothing, nevermind. Hey you look good, have you lost weight?”

do you know what company this was through? I am more than interested

And that is for a $10k endorsement.
Call Ameriprise…(www.ameriprise.com) Which was formerly American Express Insurance before they spun off the business. FWIW, their rates have consistenly blown everyone (including geico) out of the water.
But I am 35 and have never been at fault…

Hey I have a corvette, one with a highly modified motor, plus nitrous.

I generally leave the nazz hooked up, just encase some sucker tries steppin’ on the street.

I also love to track the car, and drag race with it, hell I leave my drag radials on it 24/7 so I can get traction on the threw-way when I punch it and hit the go go button at 100mph.

Can you cover all my mods, my sick speakers, the hooking in the passenger seat, and the 17 ounces of coke in the glove box in case the car burns?

Oh yah and my unregistered .45 too, gold plated guns ain’t cheep.

Why you drop me yo’?

Jeremy tells me your an ok kid, but man you needed to step back and think a little before you do things like this sometimes.

maybe my original post was unclear. they dropped me for the sole purpose that the car is turbocharged. THAT is the ONLY reason. i said nothing about track days to the woman on the phone. I thought i would just list that it was on the car in the event of an accident that i wouldnt be left with the bill for having unlisted equipment in the car.
