Simple easiest method. Lock the steering at full lock, remove steering wheel ( all the better for you guys to get a quick release if you dont have one). Remove some fuses or relays. Have slammed car. Wheel locks. Done.
im still deciding between teckniq or nrg quick release system.
i work for a shop and we deal with compustar all the time
i dont know if you guys heard of it yet, but your typical 2way system will be a thing of the past soon
it should be coming out anyday now, I preordered like ten i think it was, and im gonna be the first one to have it in my car =D
ive heard about these new alarms working in conjuction with smart phones, thats actually a really good idea
honestly only gps tracking is worthwhile Track th thieves step by step where they went/go and voila…
as much as i love my smart phones and its capabilities. I wouldn’t trust it. also considering the drone mobile, a new technology, i would rather wait a year or two till they perfect it.
oh yea, first year is free for the dronemobile…
^and they are so sure of their product that in the event of total loss, they will;
refund the price of the boomerang and any future services’ already paid for…
I mean if this thing is so great, why not offer a meaningful guarantee… cause that pisses’ me off… as I strongly considered boomerang
I had the same car stolen twice.
The first time, it was recovered, repair and returned to me. I only put the ignition kill switch on but the thief bypassed it.
The second time, it never left the driveway but was considered stolen / recovered. I had my kill switch on and fuel pump kill switch. They could by-pass the ign. kill switch (duh) but they didn’t know about my fuel pump switch.
Hidden switches saved my day…
boomerang doesnt let you see where the car is tho, but with the dronemobile/computrack your can see it live on your computer anytime YOU want. plus the power to lock/unlock or kill the car whenever you want
Best antitheft system… stick a VTEC sticker on the side… nobody wants to touch that.
lol ya
grab one of those gps tracking kits off of dealextreme.com, install and track your car with your phone, google maps…etc…
yeah those gps trackers are pretty bad ass except that if any one really wanted to follow where you are… cops or crooks… they could just use the tracker as well. I don’t think the way its setup is so secure considering you can get it texted to your phone, available wirelessly, or on the web. Doesn’t take much to break a code and than bam… they can follow your car to that open parking lot while you do your 8 hour shift. And some of those trackers, not all, have a number that you can text to do things like open doors and start the car. Doesn’t seem so safe if now somebody can tell your car to open up while your gone right.
Just a thought
^ Except for the fact that it’s probably registered directly to your phone number… so unless you let someone steal your simcard/phone… I doubt theres much they can do.
Edit: Atleast I hope it’s that way, or they have some sort of safety feature in place to prevent that from happening.
if it can be created… it can be destroyed.
If some same protocol they use only messages your phone… how hard would it be to gain access to that?
If they can steal bank accounts from people still at the computer in their house, i think they could get a hold of something thats broadcasted wirelessly.
yaa, thats why im kinda doubtful of the gps tracker. i think Ravelco offers the best protection, its not any software mumbo jumbo, everyhing is physical, and the track record is really good. too bad the authorized installer/dealer are in the USA
its just a tracker, doesnt control anything on/in your car, just monitors where your car is.
pulled this on my camaro one time while i stayed in toronto for afew days …rocker switch in glovebox connecting to starter , rocker switch in line with the other rocker switch under drivers seat, rocker switch for ignition under the dash with second one in line mounted in the door magazine pocket…battery cut off switch removable located on battery line in trunk one on each of the battery lines(u needed a key to open my trunk same with my hood(locking hood pins woot) ) removeable steering wheel and relocated ignition switch(key was in center console mounted to side) …if u think extreme yes it was but it worked
chain it to the tree.
yeah yeah your laughing. but they do sell a unbreakable chain and lock. you can even shoot at it with 12 gauge and nothing will happen to it. No grinder, or that giant cutter will cut throu them.
