haha, i love it when they text me like crazy for the first month and then they get the bill. The last one was like “wait, you have a really nice phone, how do you have at&t and not verizon? i thought they were like, cricket and stuff” Sorry bitch, you’ve been pwned by $30 unlimited texting to anyone on a 5-line family plan.
Just FYI, after just getting out of a meeting with AT&T,
their prices are pretty much the same now.
Yeah, I’m on a legacy plan, i’ve had it since '02. 1000 rollover min, N&W, M2M for $39.99 + 4 9.99 add-a-lines, minus 15% discount and unlimited upgrades through premier from my old employer. Added unlimited familytalk texting for $30, a few months ago, and win. I’m surprised they let me add on additional $10 lines up to last summer without changing the plan, and still let me add/remove features without a problem. VZW would definitely be gay about that type of thing.
can you tell me wtf is enhanced voice mail?
thats the same price on vzw, btw.
edit: $30 for unlimited to anyone texting on 5 lines, that is.
nah man, the only time you need to change plans from a grandfathered one is when you are changing the minutes. (with rare other exceptions.)
Or trying to add a line to a North America’s Choice calling plan.
I used to fall under that “everyone has verizon” thing. I stayed on verizon a long time because of that. 90% of the people I talked to were Verizon. Now that all the companies offer unlimited texting to anyone on any network and higher minute plans, it became obsolete.
good point, forgot about those.
Anyone know if this is still valid? I will need to be canceling 2 lines here shortly.
i just got an email the other day about a bunch of new changes to the contract that might suffice for early term.
I was wondering the same thing. I am switching to ATT as soon as possible.
If that thing surfaced at the end of April, I think we have till the end of this month to opt-out.
i pay $30 a month for unlimited data. i use anywhere from 40-60mb per month, maybe more if it’s a busy month. i get unlimited data (internet, bb messenger, etc), and unlimited push email. or there’s an unlimited media net plan for $15 a month. both of these can also get unlimited texts for $10. so…how is verizon’s plan better?
- VzW’s data overage on non-PDA phones is only $1.99/MB. Compare that to Sprint and AT&T’s MB overage charges which are 5X+ that.
since the unlimited plans aren’t that expensive why would anyone be going over?
- How do you think it would make sense for Verizon to ditch a multi-billion dollar CDMA network that supports more calls per channel, which is more superior in performance to GSM, btw, to switch to an inferior GSM network? Especially after we just won the 700mhz auction and our Broadband service is going to be fast as hell.
because gsm is used internationally and cdma was dead technology as of 10 years ago in all the major player countries? it doesn’t really matter anyway, we’ll all be wCDMA or TDMA in the next 10 years anyway lol
- You think Verizon doesn’t have the “coolest” phones because you have/had Verizon. Every person I help out from another carrier always starts off by telling me how lame their current carriers phones are, and I know customers that leave Verizon do the same as well. It’s just part of human nature to want what you can’t have.
sorry, verizon phones do suck. they get the “cool” phones at least a year behind everyone else. at&t was on their second versions of the pearl and curve before vzw got their first. i was on vzw for a long time and left because of crappy phones. i was tired of having boring aawful stuff when everyone else got new gadgets. plus the costs from verizon for any of their “good” phones is rediculous. the only phone that vzw is potentially getting that i might want is the bb thunder, but rumor is that it will have sim card capability, so i’ll just buy an unlocked one and put it on my at&t account. oh wow that’s another thing that vzw customers can’t do…
I just looked at my Verizon bills. There is a paragraph on the last page after all the minute details of the paper bill. My bill date was April 25th so I assume I have 60 days from there to opt out.
THIS DOES WORK!!! Took about an hour but worth it. I initially was told they would give me the 15 cents per line credit back but then i got the 175 fee down to the 115 then they even offered me 1/2 off that but I kept fighting. Stay strong and stick to the agreement. Had to speak to a supervisor and finally got them to disconnect my line.
If you want to change your plan tho, you need the number active when you move tho so you don’t lose it.
I just did this tonight and got out of the 115 dollar termination fee. Also ported my number to ATT this evening too.
Godspeed.
I see where the love is :(:(:(:(:(:(:(
had to get it done asap cuz my month was up today and they wouldnt lower the plan for the family share for my mom and sister til next month if i waited till tomorrow.
You do know tmobile and ATT use the same towers, so ATT service tho better isnt amazingly better.
Whats so wrong with verizon? I’m looking for a new company id like to know
Umm actually T-mobile rents ATT’s towers and if the tower is full and a t-mobile customer is in there and an ATT customer wants to connect, you get bumped.
No biggie boxxa i understand how that goes.
