paulo, curious, were you able to keep your number?
^^ also curious.
Yup. They are putting the credit on the account for the ETF, and I’m having my rep from AT&T port the # tonight/tomorrow for me and I won’t get charged.
A couple things I’m going to correct here:
-
The Venus does not require you to switch to Nationwide calling plans.
-
The ETF is $175 and goes down $5 a month until it reaches $110.
-
VzW’s $30 PDA plans are for unlimited email and internet browsing, the other carriers that “give” you data bundle it together with their text plans and it’s only about 10MB. Whoopdeedoo, try using e-mail/internet consistently with 10MB of bandwidth.
-
VzW’s data overage on non-PDA phones is only $1.99/MB. Compare that to Sprint and AT&T’s MB overage charges which are 5X+ that.
-
How do you think it would make sense for Verizon to ditch a multi-billion dollar CDMA network that supports more calls per channel, which is more superior in performance to GSM, btw, to switch to an inferior GSM network? Especially after we just won the 700mhz auction and our Broadband service is going to be fast as hell.
-
You think Verizon doesn’t have the “coolest” phones because you have/had Verizon. Every person I help out from another carrier always starts off by telling me how lame their current carriers phones are, and I know customers that leave Verizon do the same as well. It’s just part of human nature to want what you can’t have.
You can tell the Verizon rep to keep your account open and then port your number to another carriers. If the first rep gives you problem, call back to talk to another reps
When i was doing retail sales, the Venus and voyager both needed nationwide.
You’re gonna get an iphone now? I would wait til the new one comes out in late June/early July and switch then…
he already bought one.
Oh well… :fail:
I do wish AT&T had a high minute plan with unlimited text/pix/video similar to verizon. I would be sold in a second.
they dont have an unlimited voice/txt plan like VZW?
or in your case, if you want unlimited data, navigation, mobile email, and text for $140
Unlimited Voice 99.99
PDA connect with unlimted text 39.99
I can get anyone set up with AT&T, just a simple credit check.
Pm if interested.
PMed
has verizon jus recently raise one of their rates?? jw cause I would like to drop verizon and go somewhere else.
No. The only thing that has changed recently is that text messaging has gone up from 0.15/txt to 0.20/txt if you don’t have a text messaging plan/bundle.
I also work in Retail Sales evolve and the Venus was never required to be on a Nationwide plan, at least not in the West Area. But perhaps the M&P was different in the East Area, as that sometimes does happen.
their plan rates have not increased but according to that slickdeals post and what people said, they changed one of their surcharges which allows you to opt out of their service within 60 days
OMG I WISH I HAD TIME TO READ THIS THREAD I’VE BEEN WISHING TO LEAVE VERIZON FOR OVER A YEAR I HATE THEIR PHONES AND SERVICE
just click the link in the first few posts and read that. It explains everything you need to know.
Ugh, speaking of sheep, thats the mentality that leads 90% of people around here that have it to verizon. Particularly girls. I’ve made a habit of asking people why they have it, and I get “because everyone else does” at least 10 times more than any other answer. Then they get jacked up after their first month of texting me because they all have that shitty M2M texting and they don’t realize I’m on AT&T and pay less than they do for much, much more
oh, the sheep comment works in a lot of places. girls are the worst.
