Verizon only has ONE thing over other networks. Signal strength in more places.
If you put a Sprint smart phone against a Verizon smart phone (two BB’s for example) in an area where BOTH have 100% strength, Sprint’s data connection will BLOW…VERIZON…AWAY. Period.
How do I know?
I manage ALL the wireless devices in my company (insurance).
I have a Sprint phone (Palm Pre) personal). I have a Verizon phone (3 BB Storms - work). I also have Cingular AND Verizon wireless devices (PC cards). I primarily use Cingular for my wireless devices because they are faster, however I’ve been buying/deploying Verizon devices because they connect in more places.
Verizon needs to stop advertising their speed and focus on advertising their ability to connect in more places. They are NOT fast.
AT&T and Sprint blows Verizon out of the water when it comes to data network speeds.
Again your personal experience with cellphones is opposite of what is commonly accepted, first it was Sprint’s service is great now its this.

Article showing 12000 peoples results show Verizon as the fastest 3G network

Heres another article showing Verizon with the fastest download speeds.
Another thing to note is that both articles mention that the bar indicator for service is almost totally worthless
