Thanks guys. The 4.2 is pretty sweet, I have recently learned it is not just the aluminum V8 but also a bunch of other stuff plain A6s don’t have. It has flared fenders, side “fins”, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, tighter & lower suspension, bigger stabilizer bar, HID headlights, rear power sunshade, aluminum fenders and hood, heated steering wheel, auto dimming mirrors inside and out.
the widebody on the 4.2 makes it oh so pretty…

THE BEAST IS BACK ON HER FEET!!! I was starting to wonder if the neck snapping test drive was just a fignewton of my imagination.
I am learning that owning this car may be like juggling 8 flaming chainsaws, there are a ton of things that need to be just right for it to work but when it does it is quite an amazing sight. 
Next step- transmission. It was was working fine with lower torque but now it is not liking the load. There are some manual transmission swaps out there now but I want to be sure they are proven and of course there is the cost.
I’m starting to feel like this car deserves a build thread.
Or an FS thread.
