DD, see post #240.
Here are the new Enkei wheels on the filthy RS6.
Looks superb
lol +1
+1 <3 rs6’s
it’s amazing how much better the RS6 looks compared to your A6 despite them being basically the same body.
Thanks guys.
The hidden exhaust on the A6 is definately a thumbs down. My RS6 is lower too which makes it look better imo.
I had a nice evening in Pittsford tonight with the wife and kid. I love that little town/village. It was a nice night for an evening.
It was a pleasure meeting Matt Danger(and friends) tonight as I picked up the 6 speed transmission for the RS6.
The adaptor kit should be in my hands in a few days. I just need pedals, etc and someone to install it. Since no one locally seems to be interested it looks like it will be going to Pittsburgh.
Can’t wait.
If you want an experimental luxo-super sedan run LMK once it’s installed! By all bench racing accounts you should walk me, but you never know til you try…
I saw a C5 S6 the other day and thought of this thread. I remember you wanted another wagon for your daily and I’m in the same boat. The widebody avant S6 looks sooo much better than a basic C5 A6, but it only comes in auto so I started wondering what it would cost to swap a 6sp in. Its probably better just to get a V8 S4 avant 6sp. Glad to hear you are doing the swap though, seeing as there was no way to get that motor with a 6sp this car is going to end up being both incredibly unique and amazingly fun.
^^For sure, that would be fun and interesting. Hopefully sooner than later but you know how that goes.
^I seem to remember someone saying a regular 4.2 swap is pretty easy and does not require “adaptor” type parts. (?)
+1
What are your plans for getting around a CEL with a messing message error? Or has someone finally figured out an “out”?
Awesome !!! Good move, Lack of a manual is one of my holdbacks on this car. Look forward to your updates.
Steve’s car has no CEL issues, just ABS and traction control light. From what I am told this will not be an inspection issue.
^Yeah, I gotta think eventually most of these cars will have manual transmissions.
Nope, no problem with abs/trac lights.
And so the delays begin. The flywheel manufacturer put the crank sensor indicator in the wrong position, again.
Landcruiser for winter and 911 for summer
I may do a build thread like some people have suggested but I feel funny doing that because I don’t “wrench” on my car myself.
Anyway here is a picture of the 6 speed conversion parts I have so far…
