what to do ? headlight out ticket ><?

yesterday night i got a “drive without proper headlights motor vehicle” ticket… first thinks is i don’t even know it was out >< …
when i driving my gf home, police come up and pull me over tell me “ur headlight is out " then give me a ticket $110  , he also said :”" what u have to do is pay the ticket , get the bill when u fix the light , show it to me, i will recommand the court to return you money “”

anyone have exp. like this can tell me what should i do ?
like how to "show him the bill ", or where to send it to ?
pay the ticket first or fix it and get the “bill” first?
will this ticket effect my insurance rate ? (i have super clean record)

thx for helping guys …

Dont pay, Fix it, show up in court with proof.

so should i use the option as to plead guilty with an explanation ?

yes, dont pay. get a court date, fix it before then, bring the bill. same thing happend to me, and POOF! the ticket disappeared.

NO!!! Plead innocent. If you plead guilty but with reason, you just pled guilty. Check option 3 and take in your receipt to the judge. They will let you off unless he is having a really bad day!

One thing though. When you are in court, just answer his questions, don’t be all “But… wait… I didn’t know… I… wait…” Just wait untill he asks you questions. He will give you a chance to say whatever you need to. Just don’t step on his toes. I have sat in on many a court session waiting for mine and have seen too many 16-19 year olds trying to get off this way. It doesn’t work. The judge will probably even tell you “Ok, this is where you tell me this, now this is the part where you do this…” and so on.

Good luck.

No one can prove when your lights went out and how long you were
driving without one. That’s your argument in court. Well sort of.

Unless the Police has a witness who says you drove it on multiple
occasions. But then again, maybe you didn’t notice yourself.

Fight it. You can’t lose.

 thx alot guys

I had this a year or two ago and I took the ticked into the station that the officer worked for and showed them that it had been fixed. They just canceled the ticket then and there, no court.
