Flavo, not everyone schedules are the same… i worked that day btw.
Yawn…heard that one too many times to count.
Question: “What happened to the NECC?”
Answer: Generally, apathy, i.e., members who can’t bother to read the Upcoming NECC Events thread.
Agreed, why people who wanted to say so much that never came out to the meeting. It was posted on Wed Jul 25, 2007. So the meting was on September 26, 2007. Like 10 people showed up. I was really angered that members that complained so much at meets and didn’t show. Anyway like mike (New President) said we have a new board of directors now and we will do our best to help the club.
lol you guys are lucky, at least you’re still in town when you’re at work. . .
I’ll be trying to attend every meeting I can this winter. . . :drinkers:
sorry ryan, but im not booking off a work day worth $650. sure id like to help, but work comes first, we all have bills. i threw in some input and will do what i can to help out the club as id like to see it running again.
Kyle, everyone has to work and no one is criticising you but…
What bothers me is that we have events posted weeks and months ahead of time on the schedule of events for the sole purpose of providing plenty of notice. People should be able to plan their lives to attend yet inexplicably far too many seem to act all surprised the event is happening and we end up with shitty turn out. :wall:
The previous Board had little incentive to do much for the members when we would give up our time to run things like track days when I don’t think there has EVER been an event where the majority of the participants were actually NECC members. I don’t think I saw you at any events this summer.
I have gotten out of bed on Saturday morning at 6 too many times to set up for a track event only to have one or two NECC memebers show up. How would you feel? I volunteered time to bring the NECC experience to the members but when no one attends or offers actual solutions to our challenges it gets a bit discouraging.
We set a meeting to really get our act together and give our members a chance to come to the table and contribute their voices to making the club great and I think we had maybe 4 or 5 non-board members attend.
So, “What is wrong with the NECC?” is the wrong question.
What everyone who cares about the NECC should be asking is, “What I can I, and will I do to make the NECC great?”
an idea that i’ve came up with to help solve the problem of n-e-c-c membership and attendance at the track days is… (of course once i meet with mike and hand over the sponsorship check)
i will try and get together prizing for the track days…possibly fastest time of the day, most consistent time of the day, most improved, that sort of thing but only available to official n-e-c-c members
an idea at least?
i went to 1 or 2 monthly meets this summer, didnt seem like there really was many.
as for the track events, im going to start coming next summer as i got the suspension all worked out and upgraded my brakes a bit. i also didnt have a helmet, so ill need to get one of those.
also usually you guys run the events on a saturday/sunday. i work 2 weekends out of every month, so its hard to get lucky and have the track days on my weekends off.
i cant wait till next track season though!
Excuses…
The track days are always and only on weekends. Look at the schedule of events in advance and just ask your boss to swap weekends. Unless he or she is a complete and utter ass it is lokely with months notice a switch would be possible.
Since you make $650 a day just buy a helmet.
As for waiting for upgrades to be done before attending…dude, with that approach you will never attend. Also, you are not racing against anyone else. You are just coming out to dodge some cones. Keep in mind we have had all sorts of cars: old and new & modified and bone stock.
No more excuses. See you next spring.:thumb
Bump
N-e-c-c used to be so alive =(
You can only do so much. It’s up to people to actually attend meets and events /or hell even post on here. We have hundreds of people trolling the threads and only maybe 10-12 people who actually post.
SanJ why did you bump and old thread? We had a better year this year than 2007.
I am also confused. Like Steve said, the only way it becomes alive again is by people participating in the forum and showing up tot he meets/events.
Frankly I am getting tired of all the pissing and moaning. If you don’t participate, you have no reason to complain it’s as simple as that. Or if you think you can help us do a better job, then join the BoD. There will be positions available.
Sanjay, you seem like a good guy and I don’t want to point fingers at you but when you say this, in another forum
Why would you openly complain about NECC? Especially when you said it yourself you have never been to any NECC events? Come on man, instead of bitching about the problems, help us fix them. That’s the point of a car club. Everyone gives input and helps build it up to something special. It takes more than a BoD to keep a club running. it takes ALL members.
When did the fuck did it sound like I was pissing and moaning?
I bumped this thread to spark a discussion cuz there is barely any posts a day
two years ago n-e-c-c was the place to be, gah, since driftwest opened up lots of the rwd guys peaced imo.
I did attend like 1 or two meets, i didnt have my nissan on the road all summer…and im not going to show up in an acura either lol:P
Sorry, but your post came off negatively. Sorry for the misunderstanding. In regards to posts, why not post up some stories or hot topics? Personally I think its like 5 guys who posts threads on NECC, not the 10-12 Steve said.
Hey now. I said Post. Not start thrds. lol. Geez. In either case it lakes members to participate and help out.
