Where to find German Castrol Syntec?

Been looking for this for a while. I’m due for oil change soon and would like to use this oil. It has some amazing UOA results and great benefits to the engine. The problem is… none of the major retailers carries it. Where can I find it? I know some people run them in toronto, but I have no idea where they get it.

The difference between this and normal USA bottle is that the German Castrol has “Made in Germany” on the back.

I’m dew for an oilchange in another 300km… so 2 or 3 months maybe… hahahaha.

Hook me up with this shit so I can feel the power. :R

Nobody? Damn

i have oil that was made for the volkswagan tdi from castrol and its syntec 5w40 idk if it was made in germany tho

ROYAL PURPLE FTMFW!!!

^ Amen to that! :A

ENEOS is waay better… Race proven…

Soo true sooo much better, and i know what xero is talking about ill try to find it through my bimmer guys. Ill let you know in a day or two

I ran Royal Purple in my Z. Definitely noticeable improvement on acceleration. Couple of weeks later, I had a horrible oil consumption. I found out why after someone posted UOA results.

Royal purple is retardedly thin for its weight. 5w-30 should actually be classified as 0w-20 instead. This is where the extra power comes from because it is so thin. The UOA also shows that royal purple has very MINIMAL protection for the engine. Very excessive metal wear and deposits in the oil. Since then, I’ve never touched a royal purple product again.

I haven’t seen UOA of ENEOS, anyone care to post it up? Seems very interesting, but I’m not buying a possible false advertisement of “race-proven”.

Re Ameyami - that’d be very much appreciated. please let me know!

to answer your orginal question…amsoil or german castrol … .CT or PartSource

im gonna try Motul…

I checked CT already, they’re made in USA. Not germany.

I’ve ran strictly Motul on my engine after royal purple. 8100 has decent UOA, and I was satisfied with it as it slowed down my oil consumption by a huge margin. But for the price, it isn’t really worth it… $60-65 for 5L…

^ really smart way bro, haha the deutschland auto enthusiasts :C

I think he’ll get the info you need David;)

What’s the general pricing like on the german castrol?

– I was planning on buying a case of Redline from another board sponsor for ~$125/12 quarts of 5w-20.

Eneos, failed miserably in the UOA testing at both Dyson and Black labs…

Just an FYI…

David, did you call Part Source to see what the name of the canadian distributor was?..

I’m guessing my childhood icons of Valvoline and Mobile1 are no longer up to par by today’s standards, correct?

Anyone else still have handfuls of toycars with Valvoline livery? :stuck_out_tongue:

Not yet, I think places that specifically import euro oils will charge pretty hefty prices for the oil. But it’s worth a shot, I’ll try to get around to that.

Also, good to know about Eneos, I knew it was marketing hype when it said “race-proven”.

I will be switching to M1 0w-40, for the Z.
It has proven itself to be a solid oil based off of strict UOA testing. Its also relatively inexpensive and readily available.
Quoted from UOA thread…
Mobil1 0W-40- A thicker oil with really good to average wear results combine to make it a versatile oil for the daily driver and those who do track days as well. Will hold up well for extended oil change intervals and can be used in any climate.

Now stop asking questions and tell me where to find GERMAN CASTROL!!! :C

We use Eneos in all our JDM cars including our drift Skyline; we’ve used ENEOS on the track and have noticed significant improvement in performance; the oil does not break down as quick as other synthetics we’ve used before… Especially in high heat; track conditions. The oil is 100% synthetic. This oil is used in F1 Honda cars; D1 and drag cars as well as it’s the OEM oil of choice in Japan; so race proven I think so…

In then end there will always be a debate over oils with no clear winner; tests are always biased; use an oil brand that works for you… Don’t even get into the proper grade to use… That’s another hot topic…

F1, D1, Drag. How often do they get their engine’s rebuilt? Pretty much every season. We’re talking about wear protection in the long term. OEM choice in japan? Those japanese don’t even keep their cars for more than 80k kms, big difference from us North American’s here. I want my car to last as LONG as possible.

Notice of power improvement in performance is usually bad after putting oil. That’s because oil is thinner which frees up power, but offers a lot less protection. Read all about it in the UOA link.
