Macys, they always have them on sale as well.
Riverside mens shop. Those guys enjoy their work and do free alterations even if you lose like 25 lbs.
yes
anyone been to m wile
Went there when they were having the buy one get one sale. One suit is real nice and the other isn’t so nice, but thats what I picked. Most of the suits are pretty decent quality for people that don’t want to spend a lot of money.
The most I’ll ever pay for a suit is $300.
I got a nice ass suit from there for cheap but that was 10 years ago. haven’t been there since
:word:
$700 on 1 suit was a lot, but I love that suit.
Don’t skimp out on shoes.
^ you’d be amazed at what a set of Dr. Scholl’s can do to an inexpensive pair or shoes.
IT =! suit
I know a guy who worked in the clothing industry and he says it really doesn’t matter what brand you buy since most suits are made by a few different companies anyway. The real difference is the the weight and quality of fabric used. What matters is how the suit hangs on you and getting it tailored correctly so you don’t look like you are wearing your dad’s clothes.
I usually buy my suits from S&K, but I get the expensive suits from my dad’s closet.
but not everyone buys based on that, people look for name brands because they associate them with quality. there is more of a difference than just the weight and fabric, you also have the cut of the jacket, as shoulders and chest vary from brand to brand
I went to the Saks 5th Ave outlet store in NF.
I picked up a pair of Saks, private label, unfinished suits manufactured by Coppley.
Coppley is a Canadian manufacturer local to me in Hamilton, very well made and respected brand. They provide their own brand and private label to Holt Renfrew, Saks etc.
The suits were on sale for under $200 USD each. My tailor did them up for me for $75 a piece… and i walked away with what would retail for $1,200 each for about $250 each.
Hugo Boss at the outlets had 30% off suiting at all times, as does Burberry quite often.
If you’re looking for basic blacks or pinstripes etc. they dont go out of fashion that quickly, at least not in the circles we run in.
You can keep current with your ties, shirts and shoes instead.
I’m just giving you the thoughts of a person who actually worked in the industry. I would think he has some idea of what he is talking about.
Macy’s actually has some really nice suits sometimes, and you can get them on a sick deal.
I have a Hugo Boss suit that original price was 1300 that I paid like 300 for
lol @ Mens Warehouse - good luck w/ your fused suits
Brooks Brothers is decent
Black Fleece is better
RL Purple Label
Canali
Zegna
do not go w/ Hugo Boss - since you are paying the same ammount you would pay for a Black Fleece but w/ out the cheap fused jacket.
Get a dark navy blue suit as your staple since its more universal.
Since you are on the slimier side:
Notched label
Dual vent
3 button or two if you can find on that fits right - 2 button leaves your chest looking dumb.
Make sure to get it tailored since not a lot will fit on you. I would figure you be either a 40 or 42L.
guy on main street is who I would recommend - I would not recommend Naploies for there tailoring due to the fact they sew right over my gussets on one of my Zegna’s when they seemed it.
Would that be the tailor shop near Ziggys by Main and Eggert??
I got no experience with this topic but Syms on Sheridan by Eastern Hills Mall has a big suit selection…
Word, where I got a good suit from. I have a couple 2 for 1 specials which aren’t nearly as nice
Bump. I need a suit or two. Anyone know of any current promotions at local stores?
Macy’s? Men’s Warehouse? Etc.
The cheapest suits out there are at Penney’s. Jos. A. Bank usually has deals but all of their suits seem like they’re made for old men. Try Penney’s the suits are decent and they’re cheap.
EDIT:
I used to get all of mine at M. Wile but they closed.
