I’m looking for something more mid-range. I don’t need a $1000 suit, but I don’t want something too “cheap”. I’ve heard Macy’s has pretty decent deals. Oh, and definitely nothing ‘old-mannish’!
Macy’s is a good place to go then. All of their stuff is nice and it’s not too badly priced, and not “cheap” looking haha. I bought my overcoat there and I’m satisfied.
Jos. A Bank had a buy one get one free sale a few weeks back. I’m definitely going to check out their stuff the next time one of those deals comes along.
Yeah? Where did you hear that?
Yep you just missed a buy one at 50% off get 2 free (hell of a sale) at Jo. A Banks. I have a couple of their suits. Nice quality, don’t seem old mannish to me and I wear them every day.
What do you need a suit for?

^damn jordan… i missed that one as well.
Was just about to post in this thread…I also need one Looking to spend ~500 preferably less. Just need it for a couple weddings and other shit.
I wish I wouldn’t have just bought a few suits or I would have been all over it. Sign up for their emails, you’ll get advanced notice on all of their sales.
By the way a good place to go for shirts and ties is the Van Heusen outlet in the Falls.
Joseph A Bank has sales all the time. I just got 2 decent suits, tailored, for like 350. Just wait for one of their sales.
bingo
riverside is where its at. people that look at and wear suits can tell the dif between 300 and 700. spend the money and get a good suit. sounds like your trying to impress by wearing a suit- might as well be a good one.
Jos. A Bank can eat my hole.
Scope the outlets, SRSLY… you won’t necessarily get what you want all the time but i’ve found mega-gems there.
My two best suits were bought at the Burberry outlet there. $1650 MSRP… on for 60% off or something. Ended up with each of them for under $400 a piece with very very minor alterations required. Both were a very european cut with soft shoulders, 100% wool, made in Italy… pure mother fucking money. i get real men (like succesful dudes who care about suits) double taking on these suits on regular occasion.
My Hugo Boss suit i am going to repurpose as a dish rag… Eff hugo boss in the butt hole.
As a last resort the CK outlet there has their slim fit suits on for 40% off every day with tons of pant inseams so that you wont have to hem them (saves you $25 and time). They do fit great but they will not last very long. I’ve had my one suit from there for 2 years now with a wear once a week or two and only dry cleaned… you can see it starting to wear from the lower grade fusing that they use.
Mind you, you’ll walk out with a suit at $340 and you have 5 choices of colour. If you wear infrequently you should be fine with one of those. Also, dumb chicks think the CK brand is not shit… silly them.
Problem is that the Burberry outlet doesnt have suits all the time, right now there are none.
I almost triggered on a Brunello Cucinelli jacket in my size at Saks there 2 weeks ago… $2,600 marked down to $232… but the colour was too high maintenence and not practical for regular wear. Shame.
There is a new Barney’s outlet there whose house brand suits are reasonable but still more of a full cut. They are italian made though and under $500
I read this thread title as : Where to get sluts?
Needless to say I was disappointed when I started reading
What about tailoring?
get one that isnt an old man. i was dissappointed with my first tailor on my suits. I switched to a younger black dude… much much happier because black people are cool, always
Just an FYI here, got a nice Clairborne suit at JCPenny last night for $179. Fits great!
100% Wool
2 - button
peak lapel (would have prefered to have notched, though)
flat front pants
Told you guys about Penney’s! lol
haha yeah, their sale this week is good. They have some suits even cheaper too, just couldn’t find anything I really liked in my size.
that suit is going to fall apart after 50 wears.
So if he only wears it a hand full of times a year, he is set for awhile
