They hack shit up bad. We get stuck reinstalling all the Dish Network installs they do. I saw them run brand new RG-59 for a satellite install once. For anyone that doesn’t know, that’s a HUGE no-no. They are a bunch of tools that have no clue.
The new update I got the other day eliminates this, its wonderful. DirecTV has THE BEST customer service I have ever encountered in my life. They all speak english very well are more than helpful, and are more than willing to wait with you and chat about bullshit through the load times with you. A+ customer service.
Well, they’ll start caring more soon. Dish is gonna start charging them back for not doing the installs properly. I can see them going solo with Direct soon.
They aren’t going to like not getting paid for work they do (albeit half-assed!)
DirecTV’s content is not OnDemand either, they really irriate me calling it ondemand… true ondemand content is streaming content over the wire… That was the intention for it all along. It is PPV downloadable movies nothing more.
It looks like you need to do a bit more reading on the DirectTV on demand. You can download episodes of series programs. For example if you go to the discovery channel on demand and select dirty jobs. Almost every episode pops up. Select the ones you want and a few seconds later you are watching them. The downside is that not everything is free in the on demand menu.
you can close this thread, i decided to switch and go with Dish Network and i will be having carbonfiberhooded do my install in the near future, thx for all the personal info about both companies
both have there advantages and disadvantages… both good service. lol search the fourm there should be alot about both… but im sure you know that, give carbonfiberhooded a text about dish he knows alot
Depends on what you care most about. I doubt many people will know much about att or comcast on here since they’re not in NY. Dish has the best boxes and are usually the cheapest for what you get. Direct has Sunday ticket. If you need a shitload of TV’s hooked up, cable or att may be best.
3 TV’s are going to be used maybe 4… I dont really watch too much TV and realistically when i get settled in, I’ll have the media center set up so that I wont need to have a DVR…
I just dont want to get stuck with a 150 a month cable bill like i had before… i dont watch 1800 dollars of TV each year… lol
If you have insight on internet and phone, that might be helpful too.
They’re all big time into bundling now…the promos are different everywhere but look into who offers the best deal on all three, or at least internet with phone. One thing nice about Dish is each box controls two TV’s, so you only need 2 boxes for 4 TV’s. Also helps if you want to watch your recorded shit in different rooms, or record one thing and watch another. If you end up going Dish PM me and I’ll hook you up with a referral number to save some money on the first bill. Looks like they have some kind of promo going on http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1473317
Looks like Comcast has a sweet deal going for all 3 right now if you can get it in your area
damnnnn thats pretty good… i just hate how in 1 year its going to go to like 150 a month, and I hate that so much, because then people are used to my home number and im used to everything else…
comcast might be the way to go if i can get THAT price here… even with direct tv @ 40 a month, Plus phone/internet, i think id be right about 40-50 more a month…
dish sounds like itd be 40+ 10 for HD + 6 for DVR… its only 56 bucks… not bad, but how much tv do i really watch?..
